Scold

At that point, Adela's father was at the center of the emperor's fury. Adela was completely unconcerned about her mother and father. But this time, she was ready to obey the emperor's orders.

Adela's response caused the emperor to grin at her, but the empress didn't smile. Her expression was somber, as though she were contemplating something, or even assuming that she didn't like Adela. Alison didn't even blink her eyes away from Adela; she was so captivated by Adela.

Adela noticed everything around her. She didn't waste time there, so she took a step back and bowed her head slightly. She didn't like the empress either, and whether the empress disliked her didn't matter to her. Adela detested everyone tied to the empire in reality. Alfred approached the emperor to bid him farewell, touched his hands, and then turned to depart. But Adela spotted the emperor whispering something into her father's ear, and her father's expression altered abruptly.

Adela was busy observing her father talk while attempting to understand what they were saying through their lip sync.

But suddenly, she felt her hand being grasped. When she noticed it was her mother, she took leave, leaving her father alone with the emperor.

Adela could comprehend nothing except all the undesirable events that were taking place. "Is anything wrong, mother?" Adela asked.

Veronica initially made no sound, but after calling her again, she told her daughter, "It's nothing, honey. We don't have any work there."

Adela could sense that something was wrong, but no one was telling her. Adela remained at her mother's side and asked no questions. But when Adela moved her eyes around, he noticed her cousin Ian.

Adela took a short step back and muttered, "Ian."

"Mother, I'm going to meet my cousin," Adela said, requesting Veronica's permission. Veronica did not stop her and allowed her to continue. Adela hurriedly approached Ian.

Adela yelled out the name of her cousin, "Ian."

Ian turned around as he heard his name, his eyes widening as he spotted Adela approaching him.

Ian, Alfred's nephew. He was a skilled fighter and a knight. He was a brave man who specialized in combat techniques and was an outstanding attacker and swordsman.

"You here, Adela?" Ian said as Adela came to a standstill in front of him.

"Yes, but I'm OK now. But I need you to assist me in some way," Adela replied, her gaze hardening.

Ian smiled and gestured for everyone to go. He led Adela out to the side. Ian knew his cousin was so tactful if she came to him, so there was something important she had to say.

Adela looked around and said, "Ian, please remain with my father. I want to know every detail of the conversation between my father and the emperor."

Ian responded, narrowing his eyes, that he didn't understand at first what Adela was trying to say. Ian would face a lot of difficulties if she had intended to listen in on their conversation.

"Would you like me to listen in?" Ian asked in a perplexed manner.

"Yes, you're my cousin, and my father's a knight, too. Thus, you must carry out the task on my behalf," Adela remarked in a casual tone, as if she were assigning her cousin a significant task.

"Adela, this is a private meeting. That's something I can't do. It's not appropriate. If I'm caught, they will chop my head off. Even Uncle may also be in danger," Ian said in an upset tone.

"Then do it covertly," Adela urged Ian while casting him a carefree glare.

Ian yelled out, "Adela," in a loud voice after restraining himself and turning to look around. He stepped to the corner, grasped her hand, and murmured, "It's not possible. Uncle would not spare me if he learned anything about it."

Adela crossed her arms, cast him a harsh look, and warned: "Ian, if you don't help me, I'll block the magic mirror where you and Eni talk."

"What the heck? Do you intend to threaten me, Adela? It was a present from you, right? How could you be so pompous and shameless?" said Ian.

Adela arched her eyebrows in response to her cousin's judgment of her as shameless. She asked, "What did you say to me?"

Ian squeezed his eyes and shrugged in the negative. He was standing in front of his wicked sister. His sister could spill out all of his secrets if he didn't hear her.

"You are so terrible to your brother," Ian murmured, utterly helplessly.

When Adela realized Ian had finally found the proper direction, she grinned. Then she said, "Follow my instructions."

"Okay, but don't do this, please," Ian said as he turned to face Alfred.

"I swear I won't," Adela remarked while giving Ian a wink.

Adela abruptly heard Francis. He was standing behind her.

"Adela".

Adela smirked as she turned around. Adela looked at Ian after a while and gestured to do so. Ian let out a sigh and walked away. Francis said after Ian had departed, "You are looking very gorgeous tonight."

Adela bowed her head and replied, "It's my pleasure, knight Francis." Francis grinned at the sight of Adela.

"Francis, I am overjoyed by our achievement. And I believe the emperor will give you something special," Adela remarked. Adela knew what the emperor was about to offer Francis.

Francis added, "I need nothing extraordinary as long as I can see your pleased face," while glancing at Adela.

"Just mine? What about Camilla? And why are you here by yourself?"

Adela questioned him as she looked around the area. She hadn't seen Camilla during that time.

"Camilla? I was with her," replied Francis.

"Francis, why do you always abandon her in this way?" Adela questioned him angrily. She had a strong possessiveness toward Camilla.
