Where are you going with Senior?

Adela raised her head and cast Francis a sidelong glance. Francis didn't look at her, but it appeared that he was anxious about Camilla.

"How, though, can you spend the entire night outside the chamber?" asked Adela.

"There are several empty chambers nearby. I'll make myself at peace there. Call me as soon as Camilla regains consciousness."

Francis uttered that before leaving the room. Adela's gaze was fixed on that direction. Adela pondered, "If you really care for her, then why do you keep pushing her?" as she gazed down the path.

Max's voice cut her off in mid-thought.

"Adela".

Adela instantly said, "Yes."

"Stay here for a while. I'm going out; I'll be back in a few minutes," said Max.

Adela gave a head nod. However, Adela's mother was with Max. She posed the question to her mother.

"Are you leaving as well, Mother?"

"No, my dear. Just Max and I are going."

Adela gazed at Max's expressionless face. But why Max and Mother? Adela thought.
