Kiss by accident

Adela was astonished to see James in this manner; she could not even expect that James would kiss her. Adela felt James tighten his grasp just as she was about to take her hand from his palm. Adela spotted two serious eyes on her as she turned to face him. She was a little uncomfortable seeing his appearance. She saw some unusual things in James.

Jame's comment, "I detest it when Richard touches your hand," was the next thing she overheard. "Do not repeat this action in the future."

Hearing James and seeing what he had done made Adela totally puzzled. Although she was aware of James's peculiar nature, she never expected this outcome. She observed him making flirtatious attempts at Camilla, and he was now claiming that he did not want her to be with Richard. That was the absolute worst.
