As I carried Nayara upon my back, her weight a soothing balm upon my weary muscles, I felt a sense of tenderness swell within my breast as I hiccupped. 


I placed her with infinite care upon the bed, savoring the delicate rustling of sheets and the softness of her breath as it caressed my cheek. I gazed upon her peaceful form, it was as though the universe had conspired to grant me a respite from its ceaseless tumult.


'She looks so cute when sleeping.' I thought before I shook my head trying to shake away my drunken state.


As I turned to leave, I felt a tug and looked down to see Nayara looking back at me.


"Where are ... you going handsome ?" Nayara slurred her words.


"My room," I answered while my eyelids felt heavy and my mind remained blank.
