Chapter no.58 First Kill

The dimly lit room was cloaked in hushed silence, interrupted only by the soft flutter of Kunlan's conical mask as he moved about. The shadows cast by the flickering crystal-light seemed to dance along the walls, adding to the somber atmosphere.

The information about the Murim world, the heavenly tribute, and cultivators had left my mind reeling. A heaviness settled over me as if all the air had been sucked out of the room, leaving me gasping for breath. It felt like the weight of the world was pressing down upon me, and I was unsure if I could bear it.

Kunlan paused, turning towards me with a concerned look etched upon his masked face. "Are you alright?" he asked in a hushed tone, his voice laced with genuine concern.

I nodded, unable to find the words to articulate the complex emotions stirring within me. I appreciated his concern, but at that moment, I was drowning in a sea of emotions I could not comprehend.
