Inis walked out of the cave then passed by the others of her race.
Many eyes turned towards her which were full of curiosity and mischief, Inis ignored their gazes then quickly found a water source nearby.
After bathing, her body had removed the dirt so she was feeling much better but then she ran into another problem. 'Now I need something to dry myself or wear. Hmm..'
Inis looked around the surroundings then found a large variety of grasses which were very long. 'These should do but I am still missing a couple of essentials.'
Inis started to collect all kinds of stones, sticks, plants and leaves in the surroundings which were useful to her.
After arriving back at the cave area, many Gremlins looked over towards her strange actions once again as she piled up some stones and leaves then began to spend some time building a fire.
Just as Inis was setting up the fire and was about to use the friction to light it up, a foot came in front of her eyes then kicked the assembled pieces.
They were scattered and some were damaged while a striped Gremlin showed a wide grin as it laughed. "Gya.. ka… ha.. gya!"
Inis revealed an annoyed expression then stood up. "You.."
She jumped towards the laughing striped Gremlin then punched it in the face which started a battle between them as it tried to retaliate.
"Kaka!"
"Hee..ha..ya."
"Hit!"
Many of those in the surroundings took notice right away and started enjoying the show.
It was natural for their kind to get themselves into trouble and offend each other so battles between them were normal for them.
The striped Gremlin tried to used its claws to scratch Inis but Inis was experienced enough to duck under the swipe of its claw.
She then appeared close to it and kneed it in the stomach, her foot then kicked at its leg which caused it to fall.
Her foot pressed down onto its back and held it in place. "Bad."
Her fists came down onto its body a couple of times until it stopped trying to escape and it had become fearful of her.
It stopped defending itself and left itself completely vulnerable which meant it had surrendered which meant that its life was within her hands and Inis could decide its fate.
Inis released her foot from its body and then spoke as she pointed to the remnants of the materials she collected. "You.. go.. get.. new."
The striped Gremlin looked to where she pointed then ran away quickly to where she had been previously to gather some materials.
The Gremlins were like mischievous children who talked mostly gibberish and caused lots of destruction and chaos but they did have some intelligence which allowed them to understand others and learn.
Inis took the remaining materials then started a new fire while she waited for the rest.
Her body started to heat up and dry off with the nearby fire while she added some more wood into it to prolong the flames.
With the scraps Inis had, she started to dry some of the sticks, leaves and plants by the fire.
Some larger stones were being ground by her so that the edges would become sharper.
Inis moved onto drying and preparing the newly obtained materials then started to weave and cut the ones she could already make use of.
A quickly made version of something like a hemp loincloth was made after a long time of concentration and Inis revealed a look of satisfaction once it was on her body.
Inis then took out the sharpened stones and started to prepare some makeshift wooden spears with sharp stone heads, stone daggers and other things.
She then turned to the many eyes which had been watching her. "You.. take."
The striped Gremlin took a stone dagger from her excitedly and waved it around full of enthusiasm but it lacked any real skills. "Fo.. Kaw?"
Inis nodded then gave it an order. "Kaw.. go.. kill.. prey."
The striped Gremlin named Kaw revealed joy as it ran off into the distance.
Not long after, Kaw returned with a ravaged body of a chicken which had already been mostly eaten.
Inis looked at the remained then approached Kaw, her hand hit it across the face. "Br.. ing.. wh..ole!.. no.. eat! Go!"
She revealed her annoyance but then calmed down because it was within the Gremlin's nature to act in such a way and be quite selfish.
For a person to survive in a dungeon, basic survival skills were a must but it was good to have a wide variety of different pieces of knowledge which could prove useful in different situations.
Preparing weapons, traps, fire and other useful tools was just the very basics that would assist in the lower dungeons.
Not everyone could easily afford to purchase an ordinary weapon or a high grade artefact so many had to start off with things they prepared themselves.
Inis was one of those people which started off making her own cheap tools and weapons from everyday materials found at home or within the forest.
It then evolved as she got new materials from the dungeon and drop items but as she progressed deeper into the dungeons, she found herself not using her old knowledge as much.
Perhaps it was her previous experience which allowed her to do everything efficiently with the very few materials she had but there was also something much deeper which was her races intuition.
Through disassembling or building something, she gained a greater understanding of it and its structure so Inis was able to make each of her tools to the best that she could possible do.
A cooking rack was quickly assembled along with strips of the remaining good meat which had not touched the mouth of the other Gremlin and they were cut up then skewered onto a stick before being placed over the fire with dried leaves wrapped around them.
Through cutting apart the remains of the caught prey, she followed her experience and instincts which allowed her to efficiently strip the skin, feathers, scales or hide then separate the innards, edible meat, the muscles and bones.
Compared to mechanics, disassembling and building things in the wild was like child's play for her so Inis had adjusted to her new life quickly.
Kaw returned with a rabbit not long afterwards which had a couple of stab wounds on its body so Inis decided to praise it. "Gud.. job… but.. next.. one.. hit.. kill!"
The first kill that was done left little room from harvesting in tact and usable materials from the body while a lot of the body had been eaten or destroyed so Inis had to send Kaw to go hunt again.
The second prey was killed and not eaten but Kaw could still not resist its impulses which lead to parts of the preys body being stabbed and mutilated more than what was needed to kill it so while Inis intended to give some praise, she also had to speak in a slightly scolding tone afterwards so that it would not make the same mistakes again.
The others were keeping their distance from Inis and did not bother her but once the smell of cooked meat came towards them, a couple of forgetful or brave Gremlins started to get closer and waited for their opportunity to steal some for themselves.
After expending more energy in battle, Inis stood over them with a wooden skewer in her hand then pointed it towards them after the cooked meat had been emptied into her stomach. "You.. all.. kill! Or.. no.. for.. you!"
Slowly Inis was winning them over with useful tools for hunting and cooking them nice meals with the prey they caught and brought back.
Those that took her tools with them had less injuries once they returned with their prey while there was a select few which did not return because they picked the wrong target to hunt with their current abilities and experience.
Some of the larger bones were carved into new bone daggers and arrow heads while the tendons were used to help complete some bows and arrows.
The skin, hides and feathers were put together to create new clothes for herself and the others since they were all walking around naked but they would also he given an extra layer of protection when hunting.
After a long day, Inis was roughly dressed in several crudely put together pieces of clothing which made her be dressed like a barbarian tribe member then she returned to the cave to practice circulating her Aether through her body.
After a couple of cycles and becoming used to it, Inis laid out a couple of small pieces of animal hides then fell into a deep sleep. 'Day one is over.. I wonder what tomorrow will be like.'
As Inis fell asleep, a couple of figures entered the cave sneakily and went towards the pile of things that were laid out by her side.
