Cass asked his pouting Gege, "Do you believe in soulmates?"

Shaotian, puzzled by the question, replied with a shrug, "I don't."

Cass continued, "It's easy to deduce that you don't believe in love either, so why on earth would I or anyone else consider you as a viable prospect for a long-term relationship when we do?"

Shaotian, hurt by the comment, looked at him tight-lipped. Recognizing the impact of his words, Cass sighed, realizing he might be driving his Gege to frustration.

Setting down his chopsticks, Cass held his face, relenting, "Fine, if I ever wanted more than a night, I would consider you. The two of us would move in together, get married, and become acting royalty. Then once we retire, we would travel all over the world."

Shaotian smiled, understanding that Cass was indulging him, even though he had no interest in such long-term plans. He took the chopsticks, feeding Cass.
