Y/N's POV
I looked at him—h-he looked handsome, but he was still the same idiot I remembered. 😳
Mr. Idiot helped me stand, and just as I was about to steady myself, his eyes widened in pure shock. 😲
Mr. Idiot: "Wh—Y/N? This is you?" 😳
His voice was filled with disbelief. He still remembers me… but why?
"Yes, I—" 😒
Before I could finish my sentence, his eyes scanned me from head to toe, and suddenly, his expression darkened.
Mr. Idiot: "Why is your dress so short?!" 😠 He snapped, pointing at my thighs.
"What do—" 😐
Before I could question him, Kayden walked up to us, cutting me off.
Kayden: "Coel, you're here. Come, let's discuss the matter." 😅
His voice was calm, but I could sense the urgency behind it.
(Mr. Idiot): "Fine." 😒
Kayden grabbed his arm and started leading him toward the office table, but Mr idiot's eyes never left me. His intense gaze followed me like he was about to lecture me or something.
"What is his problem?" 😡 I thought
I let out a sigh, and just as I turned to leave, Kayden stopped me.
Kayden: "Y/N, cancel the cof—" 😌
Mr idiot: "No, bring us two hot coffees, please. I need a...very HOT" 😏
I rolled my eyes but nodded, turning to walk out of the office.
"What the hell is he doing here?" 😯 I thought
As I walked down the hall, still lost in thought, a familiar voice snapped me back to reality.
Ben: "Hey, dear. Why do you look so confused?" 🙂
I blinked and turned to see Ben standing there with a warm smile.
"Ah—nothing, Uncle. By the way, where can I get coffee around here?" 😄
Ben: "Ah, coffee? Come with me, I'll show you!" 😃
I nodded and followed him toward the canteen.
As we walked, he glanced at me curiously.
Ben: "So, tell me a little about yourself, dear?"
I hesitated for a moment before answering.
"Umm… there's nothing special about me. I'm just an orphan, trying to survive. That's it." 😄
His footsteps slowed, and I noticed the shift in his expression—his once cheerful eyes now held a hint of sadness.
Ben: "Ah… I'm sorry, dear. That must have been hard for you." 🥺
Oh no… here comes the sympathy look.
I quickly shook my head, flashing him a reassuring smile.
"No, no, Uncle! I'm happy with my life." 😃
He studied my face for a moment before patting my head gently.
Ben: "I'm proud of you, Y/N." ☺️
His words felt warm, like a father's praise. He must be a good father to someone.
We reached the canteen on the second floor, a drastic change from the 50th floor where my office was. As we stepped inside, a cheerful voice called out.
???: "Hey, Mr. Ben! How are you?" 😄
I turned to see a young man approaching us, smiling brightly.
Ben: "Ah, Mark! I'm fine, boy." 😃 He chuckled, shaking hands with him.
Then, the guy looked at me with curiosity.
Ben: "Oh, Y/N, this is Mark—he works here. Mark, this is Y/N, the new secretary." 😄
Mark extended a hand for a handshake, and I accepted it politely.
Mark: "Hey… you look gorgeous." ☺️
He whispered the last part, but unfortunately, we both heard it.
Ben smirked slightly.
Ben: "Yeah, she is beautiful." 🙂
I blushed slightly at their words.
"T-Thank you." 😳
Mark grinned before letting go of my hand.
Ben: "Alright, Y/N, let's go get the coffee for the boss." 😄
"Oh! I almost forgot!" I quickly nodded, following him.
Mark: "Alright, you two go ahead. I've got some work. Mr. Ben… and Y/N… see you around. Bye!" ☺️
We waved back and continued to the coffee machine. I grabbed a tray and placed two cups of coffee on it carefully. Ben raised an eyebrow, looking confused.
Ben: "Two cups? Why?" 😯
"Well, someone came to meet the boss." 😒
Ben: "Ah, must be his friend—Coel, right?" 😄
I sighed and nodded.
Ben: "You know, he's an actor. Did you know that? Ah, that kid is so annoying!" 😅
Unfortunately, I knew… and I definitely agreed about the annoying part.
"Yes, I know, Uncle." 😌 I smiled and walked toward the elevator.
As I reached my floor, I sighed in relief.
"Finally." 😒
Just as I was about to knock on Kayden's door, I heard voices inside.
They were arguing.
I wanted to walk away… but their tone made me stop. My curiosity got the better of me. 😰
Mr idiot: "I chose her for that!!!"
"Chose… her? Who??" 😨
Kayden: "And why are you going to do that?" He sounded annoyed.
Mr idiot: "I have my reasons, Kayden. And trust me—if you knew the reason, you'd hate her too."
What?? Hate?? 😨
Kayden: "You really think I'm going to believe you, Coel?"
Coel: "Hmm… well, yes, you should. I'm your friend, aren't I?"
Kayden: "She's not going to agree to this."
Coel: "And why not?"
Kayden: "Because—"
Coel: "Hmm… okay, Kayden. Looks like our coffee is here."
Kayden: "What??"
Oh no… how did he notice?! 😱
Kayden: "Y/N… come in."
I swallowed hard and walked in, placing the tray on the table.
Mr idiot was relaxed in the boss's chair, while Kayden sat stiffly on the couch.
Kayden's sharp eyes met mine.
Kayden: "Y/N… did you hear anything?" 🙄
I shook my head quickly. 😰
Mr idiot smirked.
Mr idiot: "Oh, look at that… I was watching you eavesdrop, sweetheart." 🤨
I turned toward the door—and froze.
From where he sat, he could see my reflection in the glass wall. I was caught. 😱
Mr idiot chuckled.
Mr idiot: "So, if you heard that… good for you, babe." 😏
"Good for me, my foot!" 😡I thought
"Yo—" 😡
I wanted to yell at him, but I wasn't in a position to argue. Instead, I turned to Kayden.
"Sir, do you need anything else?" 🙂 I asked politely.
Kayden sighed.
Kayden: "No, you can go, Y/N." 🙄
I turned and walked out.
Mr idiot: "Hey, babe, I need to talk to you!" 😰
I ignored him.
Kayden grabbed his arm before he could follow me.
I rushed back to my office and slumped into my chair.
"Aah—what were they talking about? And why did he say it was 'good' for me??" 🤔
My head spun with questions. 😖
Just then, a knock on my door made me jump.
