Chapter 64

"Aunty." I walk into mom's room to see Aunt Nailla built up from her seat as I interrupt her dozing off by opening the door.

"...Angel." She massages her sleepy eyes before shutting the windows.

"You don't have to do this alone. You could have asked me too."

"Uh-uh. It's fine." She pours herself some water from a jug on the side table.

"It is not fine." I insist as I shut the door behind me.

"Between the two of us, you are probably the one who will find the answer first. You are more knowledgeable." She pours herself another cup of water. "The least I can do is watch over Adelia while you find the answers."

"What about dad?" I ask. "And Anna?"

"Dean went back to the barony to handle things there." She says. "As for Anna… I haven't seen her all day. Perhaps she is with the princess or something."

"The princess was at the banquet." I state. "However, I do not recall Anna being there."
