Chapter 2 : Shabby Book

"You, has there been any progress?"

"No, not yet."

Harvey answered reluctantly.

"Perhaps you should become a Knight."

Chris casually spoke.

"Not!"

Harvey mumbled back at Chris' joke.

He was thinking of going to the Academy library again after this class. The Arcane Academy library had tens of thousands of books housed there. It had been a long time since Harvey had read a book in the Academy library. All this time, he only practised absorbing Mana and exercising to train his physique.

'Creek'

Soon the door opened, and an older man entered the classroom. He is a professor who will teach the class. Professor Tyler is his name, and he is a five-circle wizard. Professor Tyler had a cold impression with his white hair and wrinkles on his forehead.

Professor Tyler walked towards his place. He glanced at the entire class, then stopped right after seeing a student, Harvey Remington.

'looks like the kid still doesn't give up.'

Professor Tyler mumbled and didn't pay attention to Harvey anymore like he didn't care.

"Everyone please shut up!"

Initially talking to each other, the students fell silent after the Professor opened his mouth. Professor Tyler started to explain magic attributes.

To use magic, a magician must use Mana to cast a spell. The spell can be categorized as one of many different magic spells. The classification depends on the nature of the spell.

For example, spells that can repair physical damage or eliminate fatigue are classified as Healing Magic. Usually used by Priests or Priests of a Church who have faith in God, they use divine power for it. But not a few Magicians can use healing magic. Another example is Curse Magic, a form of magic that has a long-lasting detrimental effect on the victim. Curse magic is usually possessed by Dark Magicians who contract with Devils. They borrowed the devil's power to increase his strength. The black magicians were marked as human traitors and were ostracized by the four races of the Agros Continent.

Unlike Mana, which exists in nature, Magical Attributes refer to unique properties found in magic spells. With so many spells in the world, they can all be categorized according to their respective "attributes", which makes certain spells exclusive to the holder of that attribute. Attributes are independent of the type of spell, such as healing, but certain attributes support the effects of this type.

The attributes commonly used by magicians are usually Fire, water, wind, and earth. These four attributes gave birth to new attributes, such as the ice attribute and the thunder attribute. Although mages can cast various attribute spells, mages usually focus their power on 1 or 2 attributes. The magician does that so that the attribute he learns has a stronger power than the other attributes.

"Well! Today's class is over. 2 days later there will be training!"

Professor Tyler left after finishing his class.

"Huh, I should have skipped this boring class."

"..."

Chris spoke lightly with a sleepy face. He always looks like this in theory class.

"What do you do next?"

"I'm going to the academy library."

Chris had a sullen expression after hearing Harvey's answer.

Harvey got up from his chair and walked towards the library, which was near the main building. The Arcane Academy's library building looked majestic even from a distance. The Academy Library has five floors, each floor containing shelves consisting of thousands of books.

Harvey, who entered the academy library, was always fascinated whenever he visited. The atmosphere seemed peaceful, with the sound of scraping paper from the magicians reading and the characteristic smell of books.

Harvey headed straight for the 2nd floor, where the magic book about circle 2 was. The first book Harvey sought was Mana in the human body.

Generally, Mana is absorbed through meditation or breathing to flow into the human heart to form a circle. Then the absorbed Mana itself will accumulate in the mana circle. Mana accumulated in the body also has a 'memory'. There is a tendency to remember and follow the flow of Mana that repeats itself. If you don't agree to let it run and allow proper autonomy, you will naturally complete the calculation system without calculation. And if used properly, it will lead to the theory of 'auto casting'.

The auto-casting theory is a basic magic theory. Auto casting is a form that records the magic system on a person's Mana. This is a modified form of the rote method. If you distribute Mana in a certain form and use the same magic repeatedly, the magic is automatically displayed when you use that type of Mana. This is a basic skill that uses Mana memory.

As is well known, casting spells for magicians takes a long time to use their magic. Therefore, the theory of auto-casting becomes the basic skill of magicians to make it easier for magicians when fighting.

"control and redistribute over and over again huh.."

Harvey mumbled lowly, then put the book back down. He went around the 2nd floor again, looking for another book.

After 5 hours, Harvey had read enough books. But still don't know the problem with his body. Harvey had a sullen face and thought of going back to his room.

As Harvey was about to return to his room, he saw a tattered book in the corner of the 2nd floor of the library. The book lay down and was left alone. At first, he thought it was just an unbalanced stairway. However, after thinking for a while, he finally took the book.

'why is this book here.'

Harvey, who took the book, was curious about this forgotten book.

He opened the book, but he looked at it in surprise.

'empty?'

'why are there empty books in the academy library?'

He flipped through the pages but couldn't find a single word. However, not long after that. The emerald gem necklace her grandfather had given her shook.

'what happened?'

Harvey looked at the necklace, but it just vibrated and nothing special. As Harvey put the book back down, Harvey's necklace suddenly stopped vibrating.

'huh?'

A confused Harvey glanced back alternately between the necklace and the book.

He tried to retrieve the tattered book.

'uh'

The necklace vibrated again, and Harvey was in a daze because he didn't know what had happened.

After calming his mind, Harvey thought that the necklace his grandfather had given him had something to do with this shabby book. But he didn't know what it was.

Harvey decided to bring back the shabby book.

He descended to the 1st floor and walked towards the academy librarian.
