“Did they hurt you?” I asked once our kiss ended.

“Actually no,” she replied, resting her head on my bicep. “I kinda did this to myself. Didn’t look where I was going.”

I chuckled softly and stroked the part of her arm my hand was holding onto. “I leave you alone for five minutes…” The moment ended when more shouting echoed from above and below. Couldn’t go up the stairs, couldn’t go down. Can’t fight with Bel in my arms like this and still unable to move. God, she’s barely conscious…

Can’t shift either, not without some way to secure her to me. Think, Graves, think! “Gravestone!!!” came a familiar voice. “This way!”
