Chapter 42: The Pack Meeting

I watched her go back to Melchior’s hut. This time, however, I shifted and kept my ears close to the door to make sure I caught every word. It was mostly a lot of etiquette and custom, Melchior apparently on board enough with the plan to give Bel a leg up in the upcoming negotiations. Honestly, a part of me was jealous to not be in that room, learning along with Bel. After all, I knew somehow less about my own people than she did, especially now. This was, in all honesty, likely a subtle jab at me from Melchior, being the rival alpha and all.

God this sh*t was immature.

“Remember,” I heard Melchior tell Bel inside. “Alphas respect strength above all else, but we also love it when someone picks a fight with us, so if you want this to go smoothly, then none of that in your face sh*t you pulled with me during our meeting yesterday.”

I could practically hear Bel rolling her eyes. “What the f*ck are you doing?” asked Allesandra, approaching me from behind.
