Almos stood at the center of the summoning circle, anticipation coursing through his veins. With bated breath, he called out to his dear old friend, Astaroth, hoping that the lazy and carefree demon would make an appearance.
In a swirl of ethereal smoke, Astaroth materialized before Almos, wearing a bemused expression. His fiery red hair, tousled and unkempt, added to his disheveled charm. Astaroth's mismatched eyes—one golden and one silver—sparkled with mischievous delight as he surveyed his impatient friend.
"Well, well, well, look who's summoning me," Astaroth drawled lazily, his tone brimming with amusement. "To what do I owe this pleasure, Almos?"
Almos rolled his eyes, a mix of annoyance and relief washing over him. "It's about time you showed up, Astaroth. I need answers," he replied, his impatience evident.
Astaroth chuckled, leaning casually against an invisible wall. "Always in a rush, aren't you? Can't blame you, though. Time is precious, after all." He winked playfully at Almos.
Almos took a deep breath, trying to rein in his frustration. "Look, Astaroth, I'm stuck in this bizarre world, and I need to know what's going on. I've been dreaming, or so I thought, but it seems more like a twisted reality."
Astaroth scratched his head, a look of mock confusion crossing his face. "Ah, yes, the dream realm! That was my little project," he confessed, shrugging nonchalantly. "Designed for demons to infiltrate the dreams of humans and all that jazz. But something's gone a bit haywire...?"
Almos glared at Astaroth, the urgency in his voice evident. "Yes, it has! And I need you to fix it, Astaroth. I can't continue living in this limbo as a human."
Astaroth's grin widened, mischief twinkling in his eyes. "Well, my friend, I'd love to help, but fixing dream realms isn't exactly my top priority.. Besides, I've got a backlog of experiments to attend to," he replied, feigning innocence.
Almos groaned, his frustration mounting. "You've got to be kidding me, Astaroth! You're the one responsible for this mess, and now you're saying you can't do anything about it?"
Astaroth shrugged nonchalantly. "Hey, I'm a demon of many talents, but even I have my limitations. However, fear not, my impatient friend, for I bring you a proposition," he said, a glimmer of mischief in his eyes.
Almos raised an eyebrow, curiosity piqued. "What kind of proposition?"
Astaroth straightened up, adopting a more serious tone. "While I can't fix the dream realm for you, I can grant you knowledge—knowledge of the worlds you enter, along with the general setting. It won't solve everything, but it should give you a fighting chance."
Almos considered Astaroth's offer. It wasn't ideal, but it seemed like his only lifeline in this strange existence. He sighed, resignation etching his features. "Alright, Astaroth, tell me more. How does this dream realm work? How am I supposed to navigate it?"
Astaroth's eyes gleamed with excitement as he launched into an explanation. "Picture it like a grand theater, my friend. Each dream realm is designed to be a certain play, with a distinct setting, characters, and plot. The realm you find yourself in went a bit askew, but don't worry, I'll have a look into that. In the meantime, your task is clear—you're stuck in this world until you can successfully seduce your target, Alistair."
Almos grimaced at the thought "So, I'm essentially trapped until I can win over Alistair," he muttered, a sense of resignation settling in.
Astaroth grinned mischievously. "Looks like it, my dear friend. But hey, think of it as an adventure, a challenge! Who knows what surprises await you in this twisted theater of dreams?"
Almos felt a mixture of annoyance and amusement tugging at his lips. "You've always had a strange way of looking at things, Astaroth."
Astaroth winked playfully. "Life's more entertaining that way, my friend. Embrace the absurdity and make the best of it!"
As Almos reluctantly accepted his fate, he couldn't help but wonder what bizarre twists and turns lay ahead in his pursuit of Alistair's affections. With Astaroth as his unreliable guide, he prepared himself for a journey through a dream realm that had veered off course, hoping to find a way back to the reality he yearned for.
