Chapter 113 Bullied

Hu'er opens her eyes only to see the courtyard where she lives in Moon Pavilion. Someone went past her body, this made her stunned. She watched the little girl walk inside the courtyard.

The little girl looks back making Hu'er though she has seen her. The little girl looks around before closing the door.

Hu'er walks toward the door. She unconsciously wanted to push the door to open it but her hand went past the door. Hu'er took her hand back and inspected her hand and body.

Then, she went past the door. Looking behind and saw the door didn't even budge when she walked through it.

Hu'er saw the little girl dismissing her maid. After a while, the little girl moved and walked toward her room.

Until now, Hu'er couldn't believe that she is watching her memory in a third-person view. She blinks. The little girl in front of her didn't vanish. She followed her into the room. The little girl closed the door and sat on her bed.

Not for long, she took something under her bed. A book. This book is very familiar to Hu'er. The book that she has been wanting to reread.

Her eyes shine. Hu'er excitedly went near her young self. She sneaked around and waited for the little girl to open the book.

The little girl sat down on her bed. She opened the book in the middle and started reading where she left off.

Hu'er eyes didn't care about her young self anymore and went in front of the book.

She then began reading, 'Today the Panda Tribe is facing a problem. A problem that they never had for so long. Females are complaining about the taste of meat. It was bland, had no taste, was disgusting, and more. This made the beastmen in distress.

They are not a good cook and mostly just eat the bamboo raw. They are not so picky at all. But then, ever since they know what spices are and learned how to put 'spices'. Their food has become delicious. Even their females become more affectionate. And so they got used to it, eating delicious food.

"Summer is coming." A beastman looked up to the sky and immediately blocked the sunlight.

Someone who looks like the first beastman put his arms on his shoulder and agreed,  "Indeed."

The beastman shook his shoulder, "What do you want?"

It's his brother. His brother will always go to him when he needs something. The mate of his brother is very demanding. He would sometimes feel lucky that he didn't have any mates.

His brother sheepishly laughed. "Do you have more salt?"

The beastman frowned and shook his head. "I got none. I already gave you half of my salt. The other half is gone already."

His brother sighed. "My mate wanted some salted meat. I've been asking around and it seems like they also have no salt."

Then, the beastman suddenly remembered that "The traders left the tribe three days ago. They should be home by now."

His brother messed his own hair, frustrated. "They are but there is no salt. Other tribes aren't using salt anymore and enduring it. As far as I know, they already used it to marinate their meat to preserve it by winter or at least what they wanted to. We don't have salt to marinate the meat. We might not be able to have meat by winter."

"I don't have salt either and haven't marinated any meat," the beastman muttered.

His brother went away to go and ask the others for salt. Hoping other families have extra salt.

On the other side, not far from the two siblings, a group of beastman is focusing on replanting the bamboo.

The beastman who had a scar on his face stretched out his arms. He sighed. He heard the two talking about the salt, and he couldn't help but talk about it too, "The salt is nearly gone. We need to restock them."

"We already went to other Tribes, they only have sufficient salt. Some don't even need it." The beastman who answered is one of the traders that went to other tribes to trade or even borrow some salt.

"We actually don't need the salt too," A young beastman mutters. This beastman just transformed three whole seasons ago. Only ate some meat twice every whole season. He likes raw bamboo more.

"But we got used to it already," the scarred face beastman helplessly said. He has a mate who loves to eat meat and a little female who needs meat every now and then to strengthen her body. Both like to eat salted meat.

A tall beastman who's at their back added, "Our females won't eat meat without salt."

The scarred beastman looked back and nodded, "Definitely. They have very picky tongues. I don't want to make my mate and little female go hungry."

"Can we directly go to Aquatic Tribes to trade salt?" the young beastman asked as he replanted the bamboo he was holding.

The beastman who works as a trader hesitatingly answered, "We can… But the Tribe Leader must allow it."

The scarred beastman added, "It's hard to go there too. It will take so many days just to arrive there. That's exhausting." He is a patrol and would occasionally join the traders to protect their goods.

The tall beastman frowned and stopped, "What can we do? Our females definitely will cause chaos."

"Well… Maybe soon someone will trade us some salt…?" the young beastman innocently said.

The scarred man's lips twitched, "I just hope there will be someone then." After that, he focused on replanting the bamboo.

The beastman who works as a patrol informed them, "For now, I will be using some herbs and fruits so the meat will have a taste."

The tall beastman nods, "I'm going to do that too soon. But I'm sure my mate will complain."

"We can't do anything about it. We can only endure," the scarred face beastman said and finished his work. He stretched out his body before leaving the group.

"I hope our mates can endure too." The tall man watched him go away. He shook his head and focused on replanting the bamboo so he could go back home.
