"Has anyone told you how annoying you are? First, you make me think about this offer, clear my schedule to come here, and now you want me to leave?" I snapped.

I wasn't sure why I was so angry but it had nothing to do with my time being wasted. I had nothing much to do except stew about my life being ruined, for heaven's sake. He certainly wasn't wasting any of that.

He raised a brow at my reaction. "I thought you would be jumping up and down at the prospect of leaving."

"You're such a…" I groaned. I wanted to call him an asshole but Rory bobbed her head and I remembered we had an innocent child in the room with us.

When he grinned, I knew he understood exactly what I was going to say. He was such an asshole.

I finished braiding Rory's hair and secured it with a little butterfly clip, then she skipped away to play with her dolls.

"So, where's the hacker?" I asked, glancing around in case he had already arrived and I had missed him.
