Fight in the Night

Shi Ming and Shi Tian started their journey. It was Shi Tian's first time going to hunt, and he was excited and nervous at the same time. He had been training for this moment for months, and he was eager to prove himself to his father.

Shi Ming traversed in front, and Shi Tian followed him. They would occasionally hear the sound of animals. Due to his nervousness, Shi Tian clutched his bow.

"Don't be nervous, son. We are only at the edge of the forest. There aren't any dangerous animals here."

They would occasionally pick herbs from the side. Shi Tian watched his father pick up herbs and carefully listened to his explanation. Like this, they traversed through the forest. Occasionally, they would hunt some animals. Shi Tian's confidence increased as he completed his first hunt.

Shi Ming and Shi Tian were exhausted after a long day of hunting and gathering herbs. They found a cave near the mountain. They decided to make camp inside the cave. Shi Tian was already asleep by the time Shi Ming finished putting out the fire.

Shi Ming sat by the fire for a while longer, enjoying the peace and quiet of the night. He thought about how proud he was of his son, who had learned about hunting and gathering. He knew that Shi Tian would be a great hunter one day.

"Rustle"

Suddenly, Shi Ming heard a noise in the bushes. He jumped up and drew his sword, ready to fight. The noise came again, closer this time. Shi Ming could see a large shadow moving in the darkness. He knew that it was a wild beast, and he was determined to protect his son.

"Roar"

The beast charged out of the bushes, and Shi Ming swung his sword. The blade cut through the beast's flesh, but the beast was not injured.

"Roarrrr"

It roared in pain and attacked again.

Shi Tian heard the roar and was startled awake. He saw his father fighting a huge beast. As soon as he saw the beast, he was scared as hell. It was his first time seeing such a huge beast. Even when he hunted in the morning, he hadn't seen such a huge beast.

Shi Ming fought bravely, but the beast was too strong. It knocked him to the ground and began to claw at him.

Seeing this, Shi Tian gathered up his courage, readied his bow, and aimed at the beast. Then he shot the arrow. The arrow just bounced off the hide of the beast. But this attracted the attention of the beast, which turned towards Shi Tian and ran towards him.

Seeing that his son was going to be attacked, Shi Ming regained his footing, took the blade, and stabbed the beast with all his might.

The attack was effective, but not enough to kill the beast. Due to intense pain, it roared and started to attack Shi Ming. As he successfully attracted the attention of the beast. Shi Ming said to his son

"Shi Tian, run; father will hold this beast."

"No, father, I will help. We can kill this beast."

"Don't disobey, don't look back, and just run."

"But father..."

"Just Go"

Shi Ming shouted while sending of the attack of the beast.

Reluctantly, Shi Tian ran, with tears falling from his eyes.

Seeing his son has run,Shi Ming steeled his heart to kill this beast even if he dies here today and not allow the beast to chase after his son.

"Come on, filthy beast."

They fought for some time, but Shi Ming was not strong enough; exhaustion piled up in him, and he was thrown towards the ground.

"I guess this is the end."

He hoped Shi Tian would be safe and would love a good life. He smiled, thinking that he had managed to save his son. The claw of the beast began descending towards him.
