Stubborn Chosen one

Da Morte and the Mouse Willow stared at each other. None of them showed signs of attacking the other.

The Mouse Willow was an intelligent animal. It was aware that it could face attacks from him. If they fought themselves, it was a sure bet that he would not escape the battle with his life. But the Mouse Willow would suffer grave injuries that would handicap it from defending its territory from other creatures that want it.

"Shepherd Willow wants to know your mission on its territory," his system announced.

The announcement surprised him. He recalled that there were books from a decade ago that spoke of unowned demon pets that could communicate with human beings. It was said that communication was made possible by the systems in human beings and the demon pets.

Apparently, this Mouse Willow/Shepherd Willow must have activated its system.

He was snapped out of reverie by the repeated announcement, "Shepherd Willow wants to know your mission on its territory."

He wondered how he could declare his intentions to the Shepherd Willow.

"Speak your intentions in the open! Shepherd Willow's system will communicate your intentions! You may speak now," his system said to him.

He said to the Shepherd Willow, "I want to cultivate qi on your territory."

The Shepherd Willow fiercely roared at him.

His system announced, "Shepherd Willow agrees to let you cultivate on its territory on the condition that you don't cause she and her people harm."

He exclaimed, "Her people?"

The surviving Mouse Willows from earlier returned to the hill top.

Da Morte laughed and said, "You mean them? They were lucky."

The Shepherd snarled with a murderous look at him. He cringed in fright.

The Shepherd Willow lay on her belly and used her forelimbs as a head rest. She closed her eyes and then a red hue exuded from her body. Her eyes were closed but, to Da Morte it felt like she was watching him, which she was.

Using the devastating qi surge blast to attract qi for levelling up was never done. This was because there was a qi refinery in every spell binders' dantian which couldn't refine large amounts of qi fast enough to save their bodies from exploding due to the overload of qi.

But Da Morte was that one person in many generations who was so special. His qi potential was high because his qi refinery could hold millions of volts of qi before they could all be refined and his body wouldn't blow.

Currently, his qi refinery had exceeded its limit, but it was still holding because he had integrated with an inconvenient demon pet soul.

Millions of volts of qi energy still poured into his dantian. The qi building up in him needed to be dissipated or it would blow him to micro atoms.

He split his concentration into two. He used one half to meditate and the other half to watch the herd. He didn't trust people easily. He meditated with his eyes open. It looked spooky because he stared into space while he stood still.

Six days went by and he was still cultivating on the Mouse Willows' hill. On the seventh day, he received an announcement from his system: "You have breached the boundaries of the Lettuce-qi-body tier again! Your body is seconds away from evolving into the Qi-stone-body! "

He was delighted by the message and he smiled in his spooky pose.

After a second interval, his system warned, "Warning! End the devastating qi surge blast spell and also dissipate the qi energy in your attack arsenal in order to safely evolve to the Qi-stone-body tier! "

His face contorted. The Mouse Willow took notice of the change in expression. The process of evolution was about to begin. The starting evolution process and the qi cultivation put pressure on his body. But, he couldn't trust the Shepherd Willow.

"Shepherd Willow assures you that she is trust-worthy." "She promises not to bring harm on you," his system informed you.

He said in his mind, "I don't trust that devil."

He was sweating blood instead of sweat. He was sweating profusely from all over his body. The pressure increased by the second. He cursed in his mind, "f**k!" Then, he cancelled the devastating qi surge blast cultivation.

When he cancelled the cultivation, a gust of wind emanated from him and rustled the scene. He could move his body now because he had ended the core process of the devastating qi surge blast. He broke the spooky pose and switched into a flexible pose. Unfortunately, he still held on to the qi spears floating in the air.

"Warning! Dissipate the qi energy in your attack arsenal in order to safely evolve to the Qi-stone-body tier!" his system warned.

He screamed, "Why should I dissipate the energy when I'm in front of the devil?"

He felt that by ending the qi cultivation, he was ending the machinery that would continuously provide him protection. He tried to manipulate qi to escape the hill at high speeds, but the pressure on his body rendered the effort useless.

He silently chanted incantations in order to use his artefact ring to create a portal to Earth and escape there.

"Cannot access portal spell during evolution!" his system repeatedly informed him as he attempted to access the portal spell.

"Warning! Evolution will begin in thirteen seconds! ... thirteen... twelve, "

Da Morte bled from his eyes. The pressure had increased tremendously.

The Shepherd Willow got up and walked to the edge of the cliff on his right side. She gestured for him to direct the qi energy at her. He felt very dizzy. He didn't remain stubborn. He directed the qi energy at the Shepherd Willow.

Before the energy attacks could get to her, she morphed into a puff of flames and the qi energy went through the flames. The energy travelled down from the hilltop.

The Shepherd Willow reversed to normal.

The Shepherd Willow seemed to have a sinister smile directed at Da Morte.

His system announced, "Evolution is under way."

Electricity enveloped his body and electrocuted him. The electrocution didn't hurt him.
