Chapter 16: Remembrance

John enters his room and immediately begins to disrobe as Jethro stands in the doorway and watches him. He felt the urge to communicate, yet lacked the confidence to say a single word.

John made the observation that Jethro seemed to be holding something back or hiding something from him. John was going to take off his shoe when he paused and asked Jethro if there was perhaps anything more that he would like to say. Jethro replied that there was.

[Looking around with astonishment] "Huh! Oh no, I'm sorry, boss, but I don't have anything to say." Jethro did respond to John, but John could tell by the look on his face that Jethro was lying.

"Fine, but I would like to recommend that you stop staring at me as if you are someone who wants to feed on my blood. Keep in mind that my blood is toxic to you."
