"Can I sit with you?" I ask and he nods politely and then patting the area next to him since the one on the other side was quite dusty for my white pants. Such a gentleman.

"Thank you." I say sitting next to him and keep my hands in my lap in front of me.

"So, I heard you transferred about two weeks or so ago," I say trying to make conversation.

"How do you know me?" He asks with furrowed brows and keeps his spoon back down.

"How can I not?" I asked tilting my head a little.

"You're quite popular, I'm not, so I had no idea you'd be into me." He says shrugging and picks his spoon again but abandons it again. My eyes squint into a glare at that. Presumptuous.

"I'm not into you. I just like making friends."

"Yeah sure, like you haven't been practically undressing me with your eyes."

"I have not been doing that!" I say gasping a little and he chuckles a little. Cute laugh but to get to the point, no I have not been doing that.

"Okay, but like seriously, I saw you staring at me for the past two days and now, you're here, suddenly." He says shrugging again. I notice how his lips form a noot when he speaks continuously. He is so cute, can I just cry over him and then come back?

"Oh, I thought it'd be nice if I could make friends with someone as cute as you," I say resting my head on my upturned palm and winking at him. He blushes and chokes a little making me go all panic mode.

"Oh my god Sam, are you okay?" I ask patting his back and he nods still coughing.

"I see you know my name too."

"Yeah. I'm Mia by the way, you can always come to me for help. I'm in the student council."

"Yes, I'm aware of that. You're the president." I nod shyly and then smile a little.

"So, you wanna be friends you say?" He raises an eyebrow and I nod.

"Sure?" I nod again, not really listening just wanting to look at his face.

"So you think I'm cute?" I nod again but then clear my throat awkwardly looking away from him. He smiles shaking his head and I notice that he closes his eyes when he smiles or laughs.

"You don't have any other friends?" I ask him careful not to offend him or something.

"N-No, I don't usually make a lot of friends. It's hard to, you know, mingle with different people. I'm an introvert as you must have noticed. Nathan is kinda my friend though." He says scratching the back of his ears nervously.

"That's okay, I'll be your friend too. Now you should eat, I'll take my leave, you be comfortable." I get up from beside him and then extend my hand for a handshake. He looks at me before looking at my hand again and then gulps hesitantly.

Was he not comfortable with a handshake?

I quickly retract my hand doing a 90-degree bow instead.

"Oh right I forgot, handshakes must be a little awkward, silly me, it's okay," I say waving my hands in the air and he gives me an adorable smile reassuring me that it was alright.

"He thinks you're cute," Nathan says as soon as I sit back down on my seat next to an eager Jim and Nathan. I look at him puzzled and he laughs at my reaction.

"How'd you know that?" I ask, genuinely confused.

"Of course he thinks you're cute because you actually are. Look at those pretty eyes and chubby cheeks, could anybody say no to that? No, they can't." Jim says squeezing both my cheeks which made me look like a fish. I try to push his hands away but he makes kiddish noises at me, embarrassing me.

"Yes Jim, that has been established, now if you would please let her breathe," Jae says snatching Jim's hands away from my face and Jim gives him a weird look scoffing.

"Yeah, that, and he smiled at you after you turned around. He totally thinks you're cute."

"Do you?" I ask leaning towards him a bit. He looks me in the eye before clearing his throat.

"Yeah, I think you're gorgeous- I mean you're okay." I nod twice, fighting back the urge to grin.

The bell rings indicating the end of lunch and we all stand up. I grabbed Jim's arm, fixing his hair using my fingers and then giving him a thumbs up that makes him smile again.

On my way home after school, I quickly go for another grocery shop trip to buy myself pads and towels. I do all of the important stuff at the last moment and that my friends is one of my toxic traits. I greet Ed with wiggling brows as I notice him talking to a girl and make my way into the toiletries alley. My eyes fall upon a familiar snapback and a blonde mullet sticking at the end.

"Hey, tall-guy what are you doing here?" I ask him picking up a towel set from the shelf. He turns his neck towards me and I notice the panic in his eyes when he finds me looking at him. Sweat trickles down the side of his face and he looks pale. Like he's scared.

"Sam, are you okay?" I ask carefully touching his forearm and he quickly steps back. When he steps back, my eyes fall on his other hand. The right sleeve of his Hoodie stained red with blood makes my eyes almost pop out of my sockets.
