the hunger games (part14): tournament of champions (2)

'Screech!' the huge desert worm screeched finally moving, as it swung it's head down to the group. The worm was fast but they managed to move in time, as the worm descended in to the sand.

"Shit! for a worm that big it's really fast." Falcon chuckled a bit, staring at the huge hole it made as it descended to the ground.

"Don't let your guard down, it's not over yet." Lumia softly said, and the ground suddenly shook with the worm ascending. Falcon swiftly slashed her whip at the worm's body, reinforcing it with more poison. Her attacks were strong, but it were having little to no effect on the desert worm.

'Screech!' The worm screeched in pain, feeling something burning it's skin. Using it's senses it located Kyle back, shooting dark flames at it. Annoyed, the worm swung it's tail towards Kyle fast.

'Shit!' The tail was fast heading towards Kyle but he'd managed to leap in time, landing on the creature's back. Not wasting time he began slashing piercing, the worm's body with the two swords falcon had given him.

'Screech!' The worm released a pained scream as Kyle's hand moved non-stop, inching deeper to it's skin. Falcon was also busy delivering acid shots to the creature, constantly moving about.

In a desperate attempt to break free the worm raised it's head high, descending down the next instance.

"Shit." Kyle grunted shifted off balance. he then dug the poison swords as hard as he could to the worm's skin, as he was going door a little ride.

Now under the lava like sand on the creature's back, Kyle felt the full impact of the scorching sun on the sand as his hp depleted much faster than when he was on the surface. He cursed his luck and this fucking worm, but he couldn't afford to give up.

'I'll die at this rate.' Kyle thought, as the creature still kept on moving deeper underground.

'I can't get off it.' Kyle thought of jumping off the creature and using the swords to cling to the wall, but it was hopeless.

He didn't know how far underground he was, but he knew it was much as he couldn't sense falcon and Lumia anymore.

'What should I do?' Thinking of what to do his mind raced, as an idea popped in his head. Activating dark flames he then placed his hand on the creature's body, shooting it out in a jetski of flames form.

'Screech!' The worm screamed, feeling Kyle's burning flames on it's body. It tried shaking Kyle off, but the latter was strong willed.

"Come on you damn worm." Kyle grumbled placing his other hand to the worm's skin, repeating the same process. He could hear the worm screech in pain, as it finally changed coursed ascension up.

Kyle still kept on streaming dark flames to the creature's body, but it came at a price cause his demon energy was now low.

[Demon energy: 10/50]

He only had one chance left to activate dark flames, as it now cost 10 demon energy reprimanding the former 5.

"Do you see him?" Falcon worriedly asked to which Lumia shook her head, staring down at the hole.

"That's it am going down."

"What! Are you crazy?"

"I-i can't just stay here and do nothing, he needs my help." Falcon frowned, looking down to Lumias hand that held her's.

"Look I know you want to help, but you don't even know how far that hole goes and if the creature is still within this vicinity. You'll only be doing more harm than good."

"Then what do you suggest I do? Wait here and-" falcon's words were cut short, as the sand beneath their feets suddenly started sinking in fast. Knowing what it meant falcon carried Lumia, taking a big leap away from that location.

'Boom!' There was a small explosion sound, as the worm protruded from the sand shaking it's body violently.

'What's wrong with it?' Falcon and Lumia wondered, staring at it's funny unusual behavior.

"Kyle!" Lumia shouted first spotting Kyle, as she and falcon then went to him.

"You're hurt, let me heal you." Lumia said wanting to heal Kyle, but he quickly dismissed her from doing so.

"It's nothing.. we have to kill it now it's confused, or we won't get another chance." Kyle pointed to the worm still wriggling it's body. Nodding falcon knew what he meant, as they had to deal the finishing blow before the worm would cause trouble for them.

"Lumia you need to stay as far away as possible. Don't come rushing in no matter what." Kyle said, he could see she was hesitant a bit but she reluctantly gave in.

"Let's end this." Kyle muttered. He and falcon then shot fast to the creature's location, their faces full of determination.

"I'll distract it you create an opening so you can strike it's brain." Kyle softly spoke to which falcon nodded. It didn't take long before they reached the worm's location, seeing this ants hurt it made the desert worm scream in anger.

"Looks like we got it's attention pretty fast." Falcon chuckled, seeing the worm focused on them just like planned. Kyle then threw some poison spears falcon made, to agitate the worm more which it did. Using it's head it brought it down fast to Kyle, it's razor sharp rows of teeth spinning.

'Boom!' Kyle dodged as the worm hit nothing but sand, making a small boom sound upon impact.

'That's right, just focus on me you dumb worm.' Kyle chuckled, seeing the worm was unaware of falcon present on it's back. Now she was on top and Lumia far away, Kyle could solely focus on distracting the worm enough for falcon to do her thing.

'Screech!' The worm swung it's lower body to Kyle which he avoided, dealing attacks of his own not holding back in the slightest. He was currently low on demon energy, but luckily it was replenishing slowly.

[Demon energy: 13/50]

Glancing over to it's top, Kyle could see falcon doing something as strange green liquids floated around her. He could see they released smoke, and visible bubbles could be seen bubbling in it. Kyle didn't know what new thing falcon was cooking as he hadn't seen that before, but he would buy her as much time she needed.

"Are you even trying to kill me!" Kyle shouted teasing the creature, making the beast screech in anger. The worm then got on all fours, digging through the sand mowing it's way to Kyle. The latter took to his heels, running in a distorted pattern to disorganize the worm. Even leaping a bit each time the worm got really close to him.

'What's that smell?' Kyle could smell a strange odour in the air, like the smell of something burning. He didn't know what could possibly be burning around here, but that's when it hit him.

'Haha.. falcon's been busy.' Kyle smiled jumping a bit, sending one of the green spears in his hand leaving him with only two remaining.

Everytime the worm hit or dig through the sand some would splash on Kyle, scorching his body a bit and also depleting some amount of his HP. Kyle didn't care about the little hp points he was losing, as they had a far greater task at hand.

'Shit!' Kyle cursed, as he tripped causing him to fall to the ground.

Seeing the opportunity the worm seized in on it, sending it head downwards to Kyle it's rows of razor sharp teeth clanking together.

"No.. Kyle!" Falcon screamed seeing he didn't dodge, as the worm was definitely fast for him to react in time. Tears slipped down her cheeks watching him die. The sadness she was feeling then turned to anger, which then turned to madness.

"Die you slithering bitch!" Falcon shouted channelling her ability more, as the surface of the worms skin was covered in her poison. There were small foams being formed as the poison danced fiercely on the creature's skin, it then began melting it digging in more deeper.

'Screech!' The worm screeched in pain feeling the burning sensation, finally aware of falcon's presence. It writhed in pain slamming it's body hard to the ground, in attempt to get falcon off it but it was futile. She wasn't going anywhere, sticking to it's skin despite the pain she was feeling.

In one last desperate attempt, the worm decided to go back in the sand with falcon still on it.

"You're going to pay you fucking worm!" Falcon shouted as she'd finally melted through it's skin, reaching the brain and heart if the creature. Adding more of her poison ability, she wrapped it around the heart and brain. She was so damn albeit in killing the worm, she didn't care about going into the sand. just before she went in however a shadow flashed, pushing her off from the worm to the sand.

"Wh- Kyle!" She shouted her face full of joy seeing Kyle. The latter responded with a weird and teasing smile, but falcon didn't care.

"Any luck?"

"I managed to insert my poison into it's brain and heart, but I don't know how long it'll take before it's finally dead." Falcon said with a hint of regret.

"Can you make the poison surge faster, so it'll make the brain and heart explode."

"Of course.. you're a genius!" Falcon shouted out loud, but immediately regretted saying that out loud. "But I can only do it if it's within a particular meter."

"No problem..." Kyle then began banging the sand hard with his hand, creating a small hole. Falcon was confused but didn't question him, following his move and doing the same.

"Move!" Kyle shoved falcon away as the worm burst out from the ground. falcon then got to work making the poison in it's heart and brain heat more faster, causing an internal explosion.

'Boom! Splat!' The creature dropped dead with it's inter organs destroyed. They then decided to go check up on lumia, to see she was still safe.

"I thought-" she didn't finish her words when a bright light beamed on her, causing her body to fade away.

"W-what just happened?" Falcon stared in shock, confused at what just happened. They weren't given the opportunity to think long, as they could feel huge vibrations underneath. A huge hole slowly materialized, with the protrusion of a much bigger worm.
