Chapter 13

After a few days, we were all sitting in the living room and enjoying the comedy show on T.V. Vihaan joined us and sat next to Aarav on the sofa while I was sitting on the carpet. Aunt got some snacks in the bowl and placed them in front of me on the table.

I was enjoying the snacks while watching the show when Aarav took the bowl from me and passed it to Vihaan, "Stop eating alone, let him have some." I stopped and focused on the show.

Being a foodie, it's hard to control myself when the food is in front of me, but I resist so that I don't embarrass myself in front of Vihaan. After a few minutes, out of nowhere, a hand forwarded toward my mouth with the snack. I smiled thinking it was Aarav and ate it, as he cares about me. I was about to thank Aarav for feeding me the snacks and turned around to see that it was Vihaan all this time. I looked around for others. Aarav was on his phone far away from me. Nia went to her room and aunt was busy in the kitchen.

I stared at him. He gave me a gentle smile and put the snack in my mouth. For a moment, It was awkward for me. I don't understand how to take his behavior with me. It makes me feel awkward sometimes but also nice. He stays on my mind all day. Does he care for me just as a friend or more? Or is he just teasing me? I'm confused.

Nia came from the room with my phone, "Siya, call from your mom." I took the phone from Nia and walked into the room to talk with her. She asked me how was I doing. I had to assure her that everything was fine and I was having a great time with my cousins and aunt. She was glad to hear that I was not causing any trouble to them.

I told her about my admission. I could sense her happiness as she spoke, "I know you are capable of anything. I am proud to have you as my daughter." I told her that I miss her and she replied that she would be back in a few days. She also informed me that dad was coming back the next day since his work was done. We talked about other things for a while and ended the call.

I walked out and informed others that I had to return home since Dad was returning. They were sad since my trip was cut short. I feel the same and wish to stay longer with them but I couldn't. I also had to go home early in the morning to clean it.

"Sure. Aarav will help you as well." Aunt said by looking at Aarav.

"Me?" He asked. I could tell he was annoyed. Aunt nodded, "Yes, you."

Upon seeing the distressed Aarav, Vihaan said, "Don't worry. I will help you as well," to which Aarav thanked him.

Later that night, Aunt Madhuri asked Vihaan to stay for dinner. He declined politely, "I have to go since Mom will be waiting for me." He excused himself after saying bye.
