8: Dressing Black

The next day came quite quickly and before I knew it, I was staring at my clothes and deciding what to wear. I had just straightened my hair because I felt like it.

I spotted my black skinny jeans and pulled them off their hangar, slipping them on then looked for a suitable top and found a black one and a black coat to top it off that showed off some skin but... who cares.

Right?

I have no idea why, but I just felt like dressing up like a badass today. Was it to make myself feel powerful? Maybe.

Wearing black just made me feel more empowered and with that thought, I slipped on my ankle high black boots that had a two inch block heel. Like I said, empowered. I looked at myself in the mirror and put on my belt and jewelry and some red lipstick and eyeliner.

That'll do.

Smiling to myself, I grabbed my bag and made my way downstairs where Alex was waiting for me since we were leaving together, although in separate cars. There was a board meeting today at my college and Alex was part of it.

What are the chances?

His eyes widened when he took me in and he coughed, rather loudly might I add.

"What on earth are you wearing? Who did you kill?" He asked me and I rolled my eyes.

"Just felt like black today. Trying to show people they can't mess with me. Especially the Angelos. That's what you wanted, right? And you're wearing black too." I asked him, eyeing his full black suit and he smirked.

"Smart girl." He said and we both walked out grinning as we both put on our shades, my black metallic ones reflecting the sunlight.

His driver opened his door as bodyguards settled into the cars behind us and in front of us. I got in a different car today, another sleek black sports car. Just the right amount of badass, and we drove off.

Alex's call came on my phone and I connected it to the Bluetooth.

"Yeah?" I asked him.

"When will you be free today?" He asked me and I thought for a moment before answering.

"Not sure. I have to check the place out, jot down notes and preferences and make a rough draft too." I said and he hummed in response. The car of guards in front of me increased its speed and so did I, Alex's car behind me and another car of guards behind him.

What's wrong?

Why the security you ask? Let's just say some things happened and apparently we're very important people. Actually not apparently, we are important people. Especially my brother.

"Alex, what's wrong?" I asked my brother and heard him saying something to the driver aggressively.

And as if on cue, the screeching of car tires was heard and I looked in the rear view mirror and saw two black cars catching up to us.

"Heather, I want you to speed up, got it? Under no circumstances do you slow down and stay clear of those cars following us. you see them right?" He said and I calmed my beating heart.

"Yes I see them. But they're following me... not you." I said as I realized they had moved past Alex's car and were now surrounding me.

"Fuck. Heather, I want you to hit the accelerator and drive away and lose these cars. Do you understand me?" He said and I grinned.

"Are you asking me to street race?" I asked him and felt him smirk.

"That's exactly what I'm saying. Keep me updated. Love you." He said

"Love you." I said and hung up, just as the car of guards in front of me sped up and I took this chance to drive out of the line and hit the accelerator, the engine roaring as I saw the college in front and an idea came to me when I saw the empty road there.

There was a circular patch of grass in front of the entrance, making a sort of a roundabout and I quickly drove there.

In the front I spotted Roman and Enzo standing and talking in the middle of my road. I hissed in frustration and hit the horn in frustration to alarm them.

Thankfully, they saw the fast approaching car and jumped back just as I whizzed past them, turning the steering wheel and drifting around the round about and turning perfectly and smoothly as the two cars followed me.

I looked in the rear view mirror and caught Roman's shocked and confused reaction before bringing my gaze back to the road and speeding up as the cars followed me.

They were catching up to me and I hit the accelerator again, leaving them far behind as I found myself on the highway, dodging cars and trucks left and right.

The cars behind me however, had a hard time dodging although they were fast, but it would take skills to drive between so many cars like this. Skills I got from street racing which I was very fond of previously.

I took the next exit on the highway, heading back to the college when one of the cars collided with a tree after I tried to dodge it, and the other car got stuck in the traffic.

I increased my speed and drove on the nearly empty highway, making sure no one else was following me.

When I was sure, I made my way back to college with a very dangerous speed. I'm sure Alex would be getting lots of calls from the cops today.

Eh. He'll deal with it.

As the college came into view I sighed in relief, my heartbeat ringing in my ears as I pulled up with with a small drift because the speed was still high.

With a screech of the tires, I stopped right back in my place, between Alex's car and the car of bodyguards.

As soon as I turned off the ignition an army of guards surrounded my car and I spotted Alex standing with Enzo and Roman. My friends including Dean stood close to Alex and I saw their worried faces.

I looked around, catching my breath before going out. Everyone was whispering and pointing over to my car when they saw the entourage with us and since they probably witnessed half the action, since I drove off from here.

I could see people eyeing my car but they couldn't see me because of the heavily tinted windows.

And with another deep breath, I unbuckled my seatbelt and opened the door, stepping out.

People gasped when they saw me and I smirked when I saw my brother and grabbed my bag and strutted over to them after locking my car, swirling my keys around my finger in the air.

"Holy hell that was hot." Enzo exclaimed and I gave him a seductive smile, taking off my glasses as my brother hugged me.

"You okay?" He asked me pulling away and looking me over for any scratches.

"Perfect. Those idiots couldn't even drive properly. I told you street racing was good." I said smirking and he shook his head chuckling.

"One of them crashed into a tree when I dodged them and the other got stuck in traffic." I said chuckling.

"You did street racing?" Enzo asked me and I nodded, my gaze flicking over to Roman who had his jaw clenched and his eyes, dangerously dark.

"Roman." I regarded him and he nodded.

"Heather." He said and we just looked at each other for a few electrifying movements.

"Sorry for almost running you over." I said and saw my brother's grin. To my surprise, Roman smirked.

"It's alright." He said and I smiled at him for a few moments before Alex pulled at my hand.

"Let's go. You have class yes?" He asked me and I nodded, looking over at Jane, Matt and Dean who looked at me with their mouths open.

"Hey guys." I said and Jane and Matt rushed to hug me. They pulled away asking if I was okay and after I assured them, my brother came to stand beside me as Dean came forward.

"Dean, this is my brother. Alex, this is Dean Logan." I introduced them to each other and they shook hands.

"Alexander Elias." My brother said in his business tone and Dean acknowledged him too.

"Dean Logan. Nice to meet you Mr. Elias." He said and my brother nodded.

"I'll be going now. Take care and if anything happens, call me. understood?" Alex told me and I nodded, kissing his cheek and going in with my friends.

"Are you okay?" Dean asked me and I nodded.

"Yeah we saw those cars following you a while back." Jane said.

"Yeah some people were following me so Alex told me to get rid of them." I explained.

"Yeah we saw when your car moved out from behind that jeep and came into the college at an incredible speed. At first we were confused, but then we saw the other two cars following you and when you drifted across the roundabout, we knew something was wrong." Matt said and I grinned.

"Yeah..." I said when Jane spoke.

"You do realize you almost ran over Roman Angelo and his right hand man?′ Jane said and we all laughed.

"Yes, I'm well aware, but I apologized. I had no other choice." I said and we all laughed when we told each other about their shocked faces.

"You know Roman Angelo was swearing very loudly and it was like he would kill someone." Matt said laughing as we all separated to get into our classes.

The adrenaline was still coursing through my veins as I put my black metallic shades back on and walked over to my class, earning stares and whispers including gasps when I walked in the hallways, they cleared a path for me to pass.

Things just got interesting.
