19. Brother Trouble

What I didn't expect to see here was the Angelo's. Roman's eyes met mine and his lip twitched slightly when I quickly averted my gaze and saw Enzo and Gabriel and three other men. Nate also looked at me baffled and Alex immediately stood up from his seat.

"Heather, is everything alright love?" He asked me and I looked around at the people who looked at me confused, including Nate who appeared to be shocked at the use of endearment towards me by Alex.

"No, we need to talk, now." I said with urgency in my tone and he sighed.

"Can it wait sweetheart, I'm in a meeting? I'll only be half an hour more." He said glancing at his watch and I shook my head.

"No Alex, NOW." I said and he sighed again.

"Thea." He said in a warning tone and I huffed angrily.

"What is it? Do you need something? Tell me now then." He said and I crossed my arms on my chest and looked around at the people who were watching us with curiously as I pushed my glasses up and sighed.

You made me do this.

"Kakogo khrena ty ne beresh' trubku?" (Why the fuck won't you pick your phone up?)

I suddenly spoke and everyone's eyes widened, even Roman's.

Glad to know he has emotions too.

"Language, Thea." Alex said and I shook my head frustratingly.

"No, Alex, don't language me right now. Dyadya zvonil tebe s utra, no ty ne bral trubku, poetomu yemu prishlos' zvonit' mne." I said and Alex's eyes widened as he fumbled around to look for his phone and when he turned his phone on he cursed.

(Uncle has been calling you since morning but you didn't pick up so he had to call me.)

"Blyad'. Chto on skazal?" (Fuck. What did he say?) He asked looking at me worriedly.

"Yemu nuzhna pomoshch' s Ivanom." (He needs help with Ivan) I replied and Alex pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed.

"What now?" He asked me and I shrugged.

"I don't know." I said and looked around at the surprised and shocked faces.

"Call him, help him. He's coming here anyway in a few days." I said and Alex nodded, typing something on his phone before looking at me.

"Did you take off from college for this?" He asked me and I nodded.

"I had to." I told him and he nodded again, settling in his seat.

"Fine then can you help out here? We need more people and I fired half the marketing team yesterday." He said tiredly and I snorted. Nate looked at me in confusion as I quickly composed myself.

"Classic move Mr. CEO. I'll help out." I said and he gave me a faint smile as I walked over to him and kissed his cheek.

"Where do you need me?" I asked him and he pointed to Nate.

"Help him out." He said and I nodded, turning to a very surprised Nate who flashed me a small, yet confused smile.

"Nate, Thea will help you out." Alex said and Nate nodded quickly.

"Yes sir, I'll be on my way now. Follow me Thea." He said and I nodded, turning to face my brother and the Angelo's.

"Sorry for the disturbance... Mr. Angelo, it was an emergency." I looked at Roman thoughtfully whose lip twitched at the name I called him and swiftly turned around and followed Nate out of the office, not before ruffling Alex's hair and earning a dissatisfied grunt from him and a glare.

I laughed before following Nate out and leaving Alex grumbling behind.

I took off my glasses from on top of my head and put them in my bag and facing a very confused Nate.

"Are you and Mr. Elias... together?" He asked me and I snorted like the very graceful person I am.

"Me? And Alex? No!" I said laughing and he frowned.

"Then...?" He looked at me and I shook my head.

"He's my older brother. I'm Heather Elias." I said when Nate's eyes widened.

"Oh! I'm so sorry for assuming that Ms. Elias." He said, standing up straighter and making a serious face.

"It's alright Nate, and just call me Thea." I said and he sighed in relief and smiled genuinely.

"Oh okay.." He said smiling sheepishly but then glanced at the files and sighed.

"Well... we should get to work then. Follow me." He said and we both went to his office to start working.

We worked for the next three hours, passing each other notes and making a presentation, talking in between our five-minute breaks and completely losing ourselves in our work.

As I was working on the last few slides, Nate's voice broke me out of my trance and I snapped my head up to him.

"Sorry Nate, got a little carried away." I said smiling sheepishly and he laughed charmingly.

"It's alright, you look cute when you're focused." He said and I blushed, looking down as he came around me and cleared his throat.

"Right, um... Would you like to eat something? It's lunch break anyway." He said and I nodded enthusiastically.

"Yes please, I'm starving." I said and stood up, picking my blazer up from the chair and wearing it over my cream sleeveless top.

He laughed again and led me out and towards the cafeteria. As soon as we entered everyone fell silent and I sighed, shaking my head as Nate and I grabbed lunch and sat on an empty table.

"You used to all this?" He asked gesturing towards the cafeteria people and I nodded.

"Yeah." I said shrugging and he nodded his head as we both dug into our pizza.

"This is really good." I said and he chuckled.

"Yes, it is." He said and looked at me a moment longer than necessary when a few girls came to our table along with two guys.

"Hey Nate, mind if we sit here?" The blonde guy asked and Nate stood up and gave the guy a side hug.

"Of course, come on guys, I'd like you to meet someone." Nate said and everyone looked at me before they paled quite visibly.

"Ms. Elias!" A girl with short black hair said and gave me a nervous smile.

"Hi." I said politely and stood up, shaking hands with everyone who seemed to be holding themselves back for some reason.

"Oh, so you already know who she is." Nate said and they all looked at him in disbelief.

"And you didn't?" The brown haired guy asked Nate who chuckled.

"Nope. He thought I was the CEO's girlfriend or something." I said laughing and that seemed to ease the others when they laughed with me.

"My bad." Nate said putting his hands up in surrender as everyone gathered and sat around us.

"So... Ms. Elias.." the black haired girl began.

"Please, call me Thea, all of you." I said and they nodded.

"Thea then, why are you here?" She asked curiously.

"There was a slight emergency so I had to see my brother immediately." I said and she smiled at me genuinely.

"That's nice. I'm Layla by the way." She said.

"That's a pretty name. What about you all?" I asked the others.

"Well I'm Charlie." The blonde guy said.

"And I'm Jack." The brown haired exclaimed happily.

Boy I wish I had that energy.

"Jennifer, but Jen for short." The blonde girl sitting next to Layla said and the girl with the brown hair give me a nice smile.

"Amanda, but you can call me Amy." She said and I gave them all a warm smile.

"Well it's nice to meet you all." I said and they smiled appreciatively and we all ate our lunch and talked about random stuff, when my phone rang. I picked it up when I saw it was from Alex.

"Hey Alex." I said and everyone became quiet and looked at me as I turned on speaker because something was wrong with my phone's sound system.

"Hey Thea, where are you?" He asked me.

"Cafeteria, I was hungry, why?" I asked him and heard him sigh.

"Did you do the work? Where's Nate?" He asked me and I looked at Nate's scared face before chuckling.

"He's here with me and yes, we're almost done. Did you need something?" I asked him.

"That's good and yeah, I was hungry, can you get me something?" He asked me.

"No, bring your ass down here I'm not your slave. And don't tell Luke do get you anything either, you're getting too spoiled for your own food." I said and heard him grunt.

"Shut up Thea and get up here." He warned and I rolled my eyes playfully.

"Or what Alexander? Move your fat ass from that poor chair." I said.

"Fine. And by the way, my ass is perfect." He retorted and I chuckled.

"Yeah right." I said and hung up, putting my phone on the table. I looked up and saw the shocked faces of the people next to me.

"What?" I asked them and Charlie whistled.

"Wow girl, no one has ever stood up to Mr. Elias like that." Layla said and I chuckled.

"Yeah well, he's a brat." I said and everyone laughed including me when a throat was cleared behind us. They all looked behind me at the same time and became white as a sheet.

I grumbled in annoyance and looked behind at a glaring Alex and sighed.

"What? I was only telling the truth." I said and he rolled his eyes, taking the seat next to me as Luke quickly brought him a sandwich.

"We all know you're the real brat Thea." He said and I shook my head.

"Ask dad. He said you were a diva." I said and he chuckled.

"Right." He replied and munched on his sandwich before looking at the people around us, just noticing them.

"Oh right, Alex, this is Charlie, Jack, Layla, Jennifer and Amanda." I introduced everyone and he just nodded and continued eating without acknowledging the scared people in front of him.

This guy can't smile to save a life.

"It's alright guys, continue eating lunch. He won't fire you." I said glaring at Alex playfully who stuck his tongue out at me, momentarily freezing everyone in place.

"Hot damn." Amy said and under her breath and we all chuckled, clearly hearing her as her face went red. Every woman was practically drooling over Alex and I rolled my eyes when he gave me a knowing smug grin.

"Looks like I've got the ladies once again Thea, that's another point for me." He told me and I chuckled.

"And I've got the gentlemen, Alex, so point me for me too." I said and Alex quickly glanced around at the men who were looking at me intently and glared at them.

"Chill Alex." I said to him laughing and he shook his head, finishing his sandwich quickly and getting up. He grabbed my soda and quickly drank all of it while I looked at him in disbelief.

"Asshole." I said and he chuckled, kissing the top of my head and then ruffling my hair.

"Hey!" I called out to him as he went walking away.

"That's payback!" He called out turning to me briefly and I showed him my middle finger, erupting another hearty laugh from him as everyone looked at him in awe.

"We'll see when we get home, just you wait!" I called after him as my soda was replaced with a new one and he went of laughing. I shook my head and turned back to others and popped a few fries in my mouth.

"That was awesome." Charlie said, mouth agape and I chuckled.

"I didn't know he could be so..." Jennifer started and I raised my eyebrow at her.

"Carefree?" I said and she nodded. "Yeah well we're quite close." I said and she nodded.

"Everyone can see that. It's a good thing you both have a close relationship." Nate pointed out and I shrugged.

"Yeah, he's the best. Although overprotective at times, but I guess that comes with the package." I replied.

"A very hot package." Layla commented as I scrunched my face up.

"God, he's not that hot." I said rolling my eyes and the girls gasped.

"Are you kidding me? He's like a literal Greek God." Amy commented and I scoffed.

If he hears this his head won't fit into our doorway.

"Please." I said and everyone laughed.

"Well I can see the resemblance, you're hot too." Nate said and the others made an ′ooh′ sound as I blushed.

"You guys have the same blue eyes, but your hair is a bit darker than his." Jack said and I nodded.

"Yeah his is a lighter brown, mine is darker. And we both have only one dimple, on the right." I said pointing to my right cheek.

"Speaking of Greek gods, here comes hottie number two." Layla exclaimed and I frowned, following her line of sight and my eyes widened when I saw emerald green eyes on me, and quickly turned around.

"Tell me he's not looking at me." I said and Amy looked at me sheepishly.

"He is actually, for quite a while now aaaand he's coming this way." She said and glanced at me.

Is he stalking me? God knows what he wants.
