A small stroke on my face had me stirring in my sleep, and disturbing my amazing dream.
Some people can really be cruel.
"Angel." A deep voice called out to me.
"Of course I'll marry you." I mumbled, the movements on my cheek stopping abruptly before I was shaken gently.
"… I do, a thousand times…" I mumbled again, hearing someone's grunts when I was jolted awake, shooting up from my laying position, I found myself staring into emerald green eyes.
"What the…?" I muttered confused before someone's snickering caught my attention and my head moved to the person beside me, his bright blue eyes full of amusement as realization struck me.
"Zeph, you asshole!" I yelled, now looking at my wet clothes and the empty glass in his hands, causing him to erupt into a fit of laughter.
I climbed out of bed and chased Zephyr all around my room, probably looking like I was about to murder him.
Well, I was damn well going too.
"I was going to marry him you idiot!" I yelled as I finally jumped on him and managed to hit him with my pillow.
I landed a smack to his face and then his head and really anywhere else I could, before two large arms grabbed me from behind and I was abruptly pulled back.
I lost my balance and stumbled backwards, causing the person behind me to stumble as well as we fell to the floor with a thud.
"Ow." I groaned when my head hit something hard and blinked a few times to clear my vision, only to lose myself into green eyes.
They were so cold, and yet so warm, fighting so many wars as a series of emotions swirled in them, a sight that seemed to be so rare, I found myself staring back with the same intensity.
"W-what happened? Who died?! Oh my…." Zarina's groggy and sleepy voice rang in my ears, making me flinch.
God, how loud can this girl be?
And that was when I realized the position we were in and quickly scrambled off from on top of Roman, straightening my shirt and clearing my throat before turning to face the culprit.
"What the hell Zeph?" I glared at the said person who shrugged with a grin on his face.
"Who were you marrying in your sleep?" He asked me amused as a scowl formed on my face.
"The man of my dreams! And you fucking ruined it!" I groaned, my eyes momentarily meeting Roman's in a glare.
"And you! You creep! Watching me sleep! And ruining my dream. He was going to say I do!" I whined when Roman scoffed.
"I was waking you up angel. It's past 8." He said with a clenched jaw, making my eyes widen.
"Well you should have just led with that!" I said before facing Zarina's shocked face.
"Zarina, we're going to be late and Anton will kill us. I still need to choose a dress!" I yelled when she seemed to snap out of whatever shock she was in and got out of my bed and grabbed my hand, leading me to the closet.
"Okay, we're here, calm down." She said raising her hands in the air.
"Good, now help." I said gesturing to my closet and she put her hands on her hips, scanning my dresses before her eyes widened.
"That one." She said pointing to one of the dresses and I squinted my eyes trying to get a better look at it before grinning.
"Bloody hell, why didn't I see this before." I said pulling the dress out with a large grin on my face.
"Can I take that one?" Zarina pointed to a yellow dress.
"Of course." I said and her eyes widened with excitement.
"Thank you!" She squealed before grabbing the dress and twirling around with it.
"We don't have much time, so we'll have to hurry up, yeah?" She asked me before leaving my room and I nodded, quickly taking my own dress of the rack and taking it outside.
Walking back into the room, the first thing I noticed was Roman sitting on the edge of my bed, typing something on his phone.
When he heard the sound of my footsteps, he looked up, his eyes roaming over my body and even from the considerable ten foot distance between us, I could see his eyes visibly darken before his gaze snapped to mine.
His jaw clenched as I made my way over to him and in one swift movement, I was in his lap once I reached him, straddling him.
"What are you doing?" I whisper yelled, making sure no one was in the room and grateful Zarina had closed the door on her way out.
But one still couldn't be too sure.
"Something I've wanted to do the whole day" He said huskily, his head leaning down before he captured my lips in a sweet kiss.
It seemed to start off gentle and nice, but got heated within moments as his tongue swiped over my lips to give him access, which I so generously granted and in the next second, I was all over him as we kissed each other like hungry animals.
A groan erupted from the back of his throat when I bit his lip lightly, the sound causing a shiver to go through my body as his hands tugged me even closer to him, if possible.
"Roman.." I moaned when his lips traced my jaw, going to my neck where he began sucking and licking, making me lose myself in pure pleasure before I grabbed his face and crashed my lips onto his again.
This time, I took the lead, kissing him feverishly before pulling away and placing kisses along his sharp jaw and the his neck, causing him to suck in a sharp breath.
"Fuck, angel, you drive me crazy." He whispered huskily as his large hands pulled my face back up to his and he kissed me again, more firmly this time as his words seem to drive me even wilder.
You have no idea of how crazy you drive me.
"Mommy!" A little voice yelled, causing me to pull away from Roman in a haste as I looked at the tiny child standing in my doorway, her curious eyes wide as she stared at both of us.
Fuck me.
"Mommy, Mommy! Aunty Heather's boyfriend said a no-no word!" She yelled loud enough for the whole house to hear and I heard Roman chuckle.
Great.
Passing him what I assumed and hoped was a deadly glare, I got off his lap and walked briskly towards Anya just as Kim appeared in the doorway.
Her eyes scanned me and then behind me, but I quickly closed the door enough so only I was visible to her.
"Anya, sweetheart, go to your room. We'll talk about this later." She ushered the girl away who ran back from she came just as Kim raised a brow at me.
"Really Heather? If you want to act like horny teenagers, better do it with the doors locked because I want to keep my girl's sanity and innocence intact and it doesn't help that all the young men in this house are man whores who like to walk around in their underwear." She said crossing her arms over her chest.
"And keep the swearing to a minimum, please." She said as my face turned red from embarrassment while I tried to say something, but nothing came out.
"He's not my boyfriend." I managed to croak out pathetically.
"I can see that, get rid of whoever it is before one of your brothers do." She said before walking away.
I sighed in relief and closed the door, slumping against it as Roman walked over to me.
He looked me over before smirking and I rolled my eyes at his indifference at the fact we may have just scarred little Anya for life.
"I'll see you later, angel." He said and briefly placed a kiss on my lips before walking out of my room, leaving me in a daze.
What the hell just happened?
Just as I recollected myself, Zarina walked back in with her makeup bag and set everything on my table.
"Come on." She said and I shook my head, trying to get rid of all unnecessary thoughts of the man who left me extremely flustered.
After curling my hair, I did a nude smokey eye with a little brown and applied winged eyeliner because I was a sucker for eyeliner.
I mean, who isn't?
Grabbing the red lip gloss, I applied it to my lips and then added some highlighter to my cheekbones and a slight blush, with a little mascara to highlight my long lashes.
Thank god for good genes.
Zarina had also done a brown smokey eye with a little bit of yellow at the edges matching the dress she chose with hot pink gloss and of course, eyeliner and a pink blush.
"We look hot." She commented, making me laugh as I rushed back into my closet after glancing at the time.
Shit, ten minutes.
Quickly slipping on my dress, I pulled on my strappy nude-golden heels and grabbed a matching clutch.
I opened my jewelry drawer and put on some golden rings as well as a golden necklace Alex gave me on my birthday.
Reaching towards another another drawer, I pried it open after unlocking and grabbed the glinting metal that dared me to use it after such a long time.
Securing my only weapon inside my dress so no one would see it, I took a deep breath to calm down my nerves.
I can do this.
"Thea you ready?" Zarina yelled from outside and I quickly spritzed on my perfume and walked out.
"Oh. My. God." She said and then squealed, too loudly for my ears to bear before jumping up and down.
"You look so hot. Men are going to die when they see you." She said excited, making me laugh as I looked at myself in the full length mirror, satisfied with my look as the dress hugged my body in all the right places.
The perfect dress to kill.
"Thanks Zar, you look stunning too." I complimented her, making her grin as she twirled for me.
"I always do babe, but thanks anyway." She said , making me chuckle before a knock was heard at our door.
"Heather darling, we're leaving." Anton's voice came through the door.
"W'e'll be right down!" I yelled as Zarina and I took a few pictures before heading downstairs, our heels clacking against the marble floors.
Once we reached the end of the staircase, I was met by the sight of both of my brothers talking to Ivan while Zephyr stood next to them, scrolling through his phone.
On the sound of our heels coming closer, they all looked up, their eyes looking us over before all of them frowned at once.
Was that even possible?
"This isn't right." Alex said before his gaze snapped to mine, almost disappointed before he shook his head and turned away from us, heading outside.
"What on earth do you think you're wearing?" Anton said exasperated as he looked between me and Zarina as we both shrugged.
"The whole point is to seduce, Anton, and then kill. I can't seduce someone if I look like their grandma." I deadpanned, making him roll his eyes as he faced Ivan.
"She's your fiance, do something." He gave him a pointed look to which he shrugged.
"She isn't wearing the ring so technically, she's not. And she's your sister, so you deal with it." He said in a bored tone before walking outside as well.
"Well I think they look hot, especially Heather since Zarina can only manage to look like a troll." Zephyr commented, making Zarina roll her eyes in annoyance as I swatted his arm.
"Fine, fine, whatever. Hurry up, we're running late as it is." Anton said, clearly not wanting to deal with our shit at the moment as he walked out too.
Zarina followed behind but I caught Zephyr's arm before he could leave.
"Where's Roman?" I asked him quietly and he pointed outside.
"He left. Said he'd meet us at the club." He said before scanning my face carefully and smirking.
"What? Do I have something on my face?" I asked nervous before he grinned bemusedly.
"No, but the way you're curious as to where the Italian Don is, it's quite amusing, really." He said, making me huff in annoyance as I let go of his arm and shuffled past him, scrambling inside Anton and Alex's car.
"Did you read the file I sent on your phone?" Anton asked me once we were on our way and I nodded.
"I did, yes." I answered and saw his satisfied nod, remembering the information on the man I was supposed to trap.
The same man who was working alongside him and had poisoned me.
"I'll tell you one thing Heather, be safe. That's all I'm going to say, alright?" He spoke once again as our gazes locked through the rear view mirror and I gave him a reassuring smile.
"I will, don't worry." I answered.
"Do you have any weapon on you?" Alex asked me and I nodded again."
"Yeah, I have the dagger." I said and watched as Anton pulled out something from his pocket and hold it put to me.
"What's this?" I asked eyeing his closed fist before he nudged it even more towards me, so I opened my hand and let him drop a cold object onto my hand.
I pulled my hand back and gasped when I saw the familiar blue stone, the color of my eyes, glinting back at me.
"You still have this? You kept it all this time?" I whispered but he heard it the way I saw him smile.
"Of course, darling. I remember you sliding it on to my pinky finger that day. I kept it safe. Wear it." He said and I gave him a big smile before sliding the ring onto my finger, familiarity coursing through me as I stared at my family ring.
The stone in it matched the color of our eyes and everyone in our family had one, except me since I gave mine to Anton when I thought he was dying.
"Thank you." I smiled appreciatively and saw him nod once before he looked outside and I did too, watching as we passed by the city and went in deeper.
I hope this night goes like we planned.
