The Girl Who Cried at Nightfall
There was a little girl who was crying. She was lost, the girl always loved being with her mother. They're always going out and spending their time in different places. Somehow, she got lost and cried for help. A boy was walking and seemed a little annoyed written on his face. When he heard the cries of someone, his mind made a spark and came to help as if it were his obligation to do something. The girl continued to cry until a boy showed her hand under the glittering orange nightfall, such an elegant view that made the girl pause her cry and be mesmerized by the scene she was looking at. A boy, who looked confident but with an apparent chary written on his face, reached his hand towards the girl and asked "are you okay?" Those words she heard, made a sound in a melodic manner, came towards her ears, as if they were coming from classical music, always being played each morning by her mother.
The girl stuck within her scared feet, but her eyes showed a view of distinctive joy towards the boy. The sun sinking upon the horizon made the boy glitter like a star shining brightly. A radiating boy came to the rescue of a crying girl, who seemed to have calmed her down from his existence. "No. I can't find my mother. I'm lost." Replied with her downhearted voice. Her eyes, which were overflowed with tears, seemed to come to an end after she reached her hand to the boy who's waiting for her hand. The boy lifted her from the ground and held her hand a little more. "Then, let's find your mother." Replied by the nameless boy, who looks hesitant from his shyness, the girl came to an agreement like she was being saved by a prince.
From the information that the girl was told to her "personal" prince, they eventually find her mother. Her mother hugged her; the worriedness on the mother's face was crystal clear. The boy looked away after seeing them; after all, he's the boy who's always shy, acting like a prince for the crying girl.
The mother came to thank the boy and the boy nodded, avoiding any eye contact, he left without any words. The girl felt more than being saved; she felt warmed when he held her hand while looking at her mother. It's her first experience that makes her mesmerized and fantasized about her being saved again by her personal prince. However, it did not last long.
She came back to the same place, hoping they'd meet again. However, the sun sank without acknowledging her wish.
Years later, she finally reached high school. The girl who cried when she was lost was finally laughing with her friend walking from school. She looked at the orange sunlight that was sinking at the horizon, made her feel a little sad, yet cherished the moment of the little time before the sun sank again. Her friends looked confused after her talkative personality fell into silence as she stared at the beautiful stream of orange light. "I'm okay, honestly." Replied when her friends asked, she's alright.
The butterfly then passed the girls that flowed with the wind.
"Ah, blue butterfly!"
"Isn't it beautiful?"
"I know it's rare. Let's follow it!"
"Girls, isn't that we're old enough to…" While turning her eyes at her friends, she saw a familiar figure. As if she went back in time. A silhouette of a person she has always been looking for.
It became clear to her. The sun did not sink for her.
—It was this place where I met you. I was lost when I tried reaching for the blue butterfly. I knew it was rare, I tried grabbing it with my arm, but I got lost when I followed it. It was late to realize I had come to an unknown place. I started crying. I eventually think that my mother did not follow me; my mother did not love me. I refused that idea because we always walked together from places I never knew. I cried. It was so silent that it made me think that no one was here. It made me think that I was alone, until you showed up. You took my hand and pulled me from the abyss I'm falling into. You helped me find my mother. Since then, I kept going to that place at the same time, in the same sunlight, with the same idea that I'll see you again. Such childish actions that I kept doing until I graduated from my elementary school, yet it gives me a warm feeling whenever I think about it every time. I gave up because I knew it'd never happen again; I'll never see that sunlight again. But finally, the sun made my wish come true.
While her friends were distracted, one turned away and watched the girl smile with a tear coming out of her eye. With her friend's confusion, she turned to where she was looking. Her assumption dropped from the butterfly, flying like wherever the wind flows. After a second, the butterfly landed on the boy's shoulder; the boy then looked at the butterfly and let it walk on his fingers.
He noticed it. From the group of girls, one was looking at him with an elegant cry. He noticed it. He noticed a familiar smile.
Under that same sunlight
Our eyes glazed back at each other
With no words can explain my feelings
It has been a long time.
My prince.
