Chapter 6

The first thing Charlie sees when she wakes up and walks into the living room is Sam and Gabriel chatting in the corner, their extremely close proximity and their expressions making it clear they're flirting with each other. It takes all her willpower not to squeal so loudly and high pitched that every piece of glass in the room shatters. Instead, she "calmly" looks around, locking eyes with Meg, who walks up to her.

"Hey, hot stuff," Meg greets her with a wink.

Charlie blushes, which is extremely visible. It's an unfortunate side effect of being a redhead. "Hey yourself."

"You looking for something?" Meg asks, noticing her drifting gaze.

"Yeah, I need to figure out how to get a change of clothes so I can take a shower," Charlie replies.

"Mind if I join you?"

Charlie starts choking on air at that suggestion, gaining the attention of everyone else in the room. Lucifer is the only one who cares enough to walk up and check on her, though. Well, he really just wants someone to talk to, because he's getting pretty lonely standing by the wall.

"Hey, Red, you okay?" Lucifer asks.

Charlie nods, finishing her choking fit before saying, "Yeah, fine. Oh, you're an angel. You have angely powers, right?"

"I do," he confirms.

"I need a change of clothes so I can go take a shower. Can you help with that, since I didn't really take a suitcase from the dead?"

Suddenly, a pile of clothes appear in Lucifer's hand, which he hands to her. "You seem like the type to wear a Star Wars shirt."

She nods. "I definitely am, thanks. I'm gonna go take a shower, so if anyone asks, I still exist."

"Mind if I join you?" Lucifer asks with a smirk, causing Charlie to start another choking fit.

"Too late; I asked first," Meg tells him.

"And I'm a lesbian," she adds.

"Ah, well, it was worth a try."

"Okay, I'm gonna go take a shower for real now," Charlie announces. "Alone."

"Alright," Meg replies. "There'll be other chances for me to get a look." Seeing Charlie's reaction, she grins. "You're so cute when you're flustered." As Charlie walks towards the showers, Meg slaps her ass because why the hell not?

Charlie meets up with Dean as she leaves the bathroom, showered and ready for the day. She has to admit, the shirt from Lucifer is really cool. It says in rainbow lettering to reflect who she is on the inside. (Read: It fits her perfectly because she's hella gay.)

"'Morning," Charlie greets Dean with a smile.

"Hey," Dean replies. "How is everything? Anybody killing anybody yet?"

Charlie shakes her head. "Not as of half an hour ago, anyway. Your dad was playing Michael in poker, Sabriel was being adorable in a dark corner, and Meg and Lucifer are both flirts, but that's about it."

"'Sabriel'?" Dean repeats, puzzled.

"Sam and Gabriel," she clarifies. "It's their ship name."

"Oh, of course," Dean replies, making it clear there was no way he would have known that.

They stand in the doorway to the room and freeze. Standing against the far wall is Meg and Castiel, chatting. It's clear Meg is flirting, and Castiel definitely isn't telling her not to. Though neither of them have the right to feel this way because there's nothing going on with any of them, both Dean and Charlie feel a pang of jealousy at this. They stand frozen, watching the angel and demon.

"Hey, Cas, stop flirting with Meg!" Gabriel yells, much louder than necessary.

"I'm sorry?" Castiel replies, completely clueless as to what Gabriel is talking about.

"Dean's in love with you and it's getting really annoying watching him pining over you so, like, mingle."

Sam starts laughing, and only Gabriel knows why; Sam has just been joking with Gabriel about how he should tell Castiel about that. Looks like Gabriel is a bit more of a go-getter than Sam thought.

Dean glares at the archangel. Castiel tilts his head in confusion, looking at the hunter.

"Dean?" he prompts.

"Yes, Cas?" Dean replies awkwardly, knowing what's coming.

"Is Gabriel correct?" Castiel asks.

Dean hesitates for just a moment, so quick it's barely noticeable. "No. Your brother's just being an asshole."

"Okay, but this asshole just happens to be correct," Gabriel says.

"No, you're not," Dean replies.

"Stop lying and embrace the gay, Deano!" Gabriel says with a smirk.

"Sam, control your boyfriend," Dean commands, fed up with the angel.

"No one controls Gabriel," Sam replies.

"He's just mad that I know he's gay," Gabriel says.

"No, I'm not," Dean repeats. "You said it yourself, Gabriel. Don't you ever presume to know what I am."

"Dude, that was, like, seven years ago. How the hell do you still remember that?"

"It's kinda hard to forget an archangel slamming you into a wall," Dean replies, grateful for the change in subject.

"Don't worry, Deano. First times the hardest. But that might just be because it was Michael the first time, and Lucifer just about every time after that."

"But to be fair, I only threw you into walls if I had a reason," Lucifer says.

"Like when I said I liked elephants more than giraffes?" Gabriel reminds him. "Because that's a pretty lame reason."

"Okay, that was more because you were just being annoying."

"No, I wasn't!" Gabriel protests.

"You're always annoying," Dean reminds him. "Just saying."

"Am not!"

"Dean's right," Lucifer agrees. "For probably the first time in his life."

"Shut up," Dean snaps.

"But it doesn't matter, cuz you guys love me!" Gabriel says with a grin.

"No, I really don't," Dean replies.

"You're right," Gabriel agrees. "You love Cas."

"Oh my god," Dean groans.

"Nicely played," Lucifer laughs.

"I thought so too," Gabriel agrees.
