Chapter 29 : Call Me By My Name

Although my body was shuddering with anxious anticipation, deep down I was ready to tell Prince Leonardo everything. He was glaring into my eyes with ferocity, yet I knew from spending the little time I had around him that I could trust him.

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes.

“I’m not… Princess Iris…” I muttered.

Nothing. Silence.

All I could hear was the steady panic pounding in my chest.

I peeped through the thin slit of my eyes to find that Prince Leonardo was still glaring at me, his expression unchanged. He didn’t look the least bit surprised.

Did he not hear me? Did he not understand what I meant?

I cleared my throat and repeated myself a bit more clearly. “I’m not Princess Iris.”

“I know,” Prince Leonardo bit at me. “I’ve known for a long time.”

My heart thumped and dropped.

Goddess, how did I not notice?

“You… knew this whole time?” I asked in disbelief. “How?”
