"You don't have to marry Prince Leonardo for the treaty to be valid. Really, you have your choice between brothers," he said with a devilish grin.

He couldn't really be suggesting… I pressed my tongue to the roof of my mouth to keep my expression in check. I had to be measured around this master manipulator.

Doing my best to mimic the flirty eye batting I'd witnessed from Cami, I glared up at August and leaned close to him though every ounce of my being was revolted by the disgusting look in his eye and the sour stench of his scent.

"Is that right?" I asked.

He grinned and nodded, giving his eyebrows a sick wiggle. "What do you think about that?"

No, absolutely not. I wanted to say… but clearly he thought that he had me right where he wanted me, and if he thought that then he'd more than likely be willing to tell me what cogs were spinning in his mind.
