**Amber POV
I poked at the two bite marks on my neck–two perfect puncture wounds.
When he first marked me back in Sablestone, I didn’t know what a wolf’s bite should have resembled. But, as I saw my reflection in the mirror now, these punctures appeared very thin, almost like a needle breaching the surface.
No, I thought to myself…. It couldn’t be.
Vampires were supposed to have been eradicated from Astana.
But what did I even know about vampires other than the obvious ‘they like blood’ phenomenon? Not a whole lot.
For shifters, vampires were practically our enemies; they liked to feed on our blood, and rumors were that royals’ blood was like an unmatchable delicacy, although that was all hearsay.
His blanched face, his changing eye color, his irritability, his attraction to my neck, and his tendency to bite was damning evidence.
As much as I wanted to find out more about Leo, this wasn’t exactly the type of information I thought I’d find.
