Chapter 220: Homecoming

I paced the hotel room so hard it was a wonder I didn’t wear right through the floor. Agitated didn't even begin to describe how I was feeling at that moment. Everything I’d feared and was trying to avoid had happened anyway, despite my best-laid plans.

It was supposed to be perfect. Livy and the kids would be safe, I could do what needed to be done in the city. But it hadn’t gone that way, and I knew why.

Anthony and Jesse were right. There really was a traitor in the ranks, possibly more than one, that was doing things for the Diaz family, making things a lot easier in terms of the vendetta.

The very idea of someone going after Liv and the kids. It made me feel sick, and like I wanted something I knew I would regret.

I wasn’t a killer. I was far from the monster I would need to be to bring the Diaz family down for good outside of legal means. But it was tempting. Like a pack of premium cigars to someone who had just quit smoking the week before.
