Chapter 224: Breaking the Mole

The name didn’t ring a bell, but just sounded bad to my ears. Like the villain in a crime drama or something. It probably wasn’t fair, but I tended to see things as they were, even if I usually kept it to myself.

“No, I can’t say I have.”

“Right. Ellis?” Jesse asked, turning his attention to my left.

“No, I’ve never heard of him,” Ellis said, coming out of the fog of his thoughts.

“Right, well, not surprisingly, he’s a member of the Diaz cartel. One of the higher ones. I’m also not too surprised that you haven’t heard of him. He tends to stay in the background, pulling the strings, and watching the puppets dance.”

“He’s related to Bethany, right?” Ellis asked.

“Her cousin,” Jesse said. “Apparently she’s something of a favorite in a family.”

“How dangerous is he?” I asked.

“Compared to who?”

“Bethany,” Ellis said.
