Chapter 232 : Killer Instinct

Chapter 232: Killer Instinct

Olivia POV

I worked better when I was frustrated. It was sick but undeniably true. Love and hate, sex and violence, art and creativity, all came from the same basic drive and could be directed every which way.

It worked when I was happy too, but who could be happy all the time? It was less a matter of caging the rage than shifting it in a new direction.

I went through two sketching pencils in the first few hours. Stopping only to sharpen until the second one was down to a nub. Out of room on that part of the wall, right behind my drawing board, where I stuck the draft pin-ups, I moved over to the one to my left.

They wouldn’t all work, mostly just concepts. On the other hand, there were so many that even if a quarter of them worked, we wouldn’t have to come up with any more projects for a couple of years.

My thumbs black with smudged graphite, I closed my eyes, just for a moment, time still marching by towards the morning.
