I paced around the factory anxiously until Max returned with Bryant and Jack, the heads of other underground syndicates.
“Jaxon, good to see you again,” Bryant called out, reaching out for an expected professional hug. I obliged.
“Bryant,” I said, shaking his hand.
“Jaxon, so it seems we have a bit of a problem on our hands. I must say, I’m a bit hesitant about James’s proposal but, desperate times,” Jack continued.
I completely understood his uncertainty but hearing it only made me frustrated. We didn’t have time for this.
