"Where are they?" Sam muttered as he checked his wristwatch before looking around the dimly lit street.
I scoffed, completely unsurprised that these pigs were late for our meeting. I wouldn't even be surprised if they didn't show up and just reneged on our deal. We'd been waiting at the agreed-upon meeting place for half an hour, and I was getting antsy too.
I felt like a sitting duck, and part of me couldn't help but wonder if this whole thing was a setup.
"What do we do if they don't come, boss?" Sam asked with a frown.
"They'll come," I answered strongly, with a confidence that I certainly didn't feel.
I was just about to call it in when I spotted car lights drawing closer and closer. I put my hand over the gun in my holster warily, ready to shoot if this was an ambush.
The lights blinded me for a second before the black SUV navigated its way into a parking spot opposite our own. Sam and I exchanged glances before moving to the front of the car to meet our rivals.
