I had decided to brave the outside world today, with high security, of course, but after a long day I was ready to go home and just forget about everything for a while. My stomach growled and I realized I hadn’t eaten since my small salad at lunch. The hunger pains were starting to cause a headache. I pushed the button for the elevator to head up to Jaxon’s office. 


For a moment I was completely baffled. The lights were off, everything was closed down-even his secretary had gone home. My first reaction was to panic but instead I pulled my phone out of my pocket and texted him. Within seconds he texted me back. The little dots indicating he was replying eased any worry that something serious had happened to him.
