Despite having gone to bed at a decent hour, I felt more tired and groggier than usual. I dragged myself into the bathroom as I wiped the sleep from my eyes. As I looked at my own reflection I started to feel a bit queasy. Before I knew what was happening, I threw up a bit into the sink.
I wiped my mouth and rinsed it out with mouthwash before looking at myself again. I didn’t feel right, but something about this feeling was familiar. I paused for a moment and then had a sudden realization. I stared at my reflection again with wide eyes. I felt excited, hopeful, anxious and nervous. I threw on some clothes quickly and headed downstairs.
Jaxon was waiting in the kitchen, reading the paper and drinking coffee.
"Well you slept kind of late, how are you feeling?" he asked, half in concern and half teasing. I smiled weakly at him.
