Chapter 270 : A Voice From the Past

I stared at the caller ID and then sent it to voicemail. I couldn’t talk to him. Not yet. Not until I was safe in my soundproof office. I knew if Sara had her way we wouldn’t talk to him at all. I needed to get to work quickly so I could work on actually fixing things. I drove as fast as I dared through the streets, irritating several other drivers around me. I didn’t care about them, though. I pulled into the parking garage and parked. I walked to the elevator and took it up to my office.

I didn’t want to see anyone or talk to anyone, not before I was able to call Antonio back.

I walked into the office to see Teddy was sitting at my desk already. He was eating some sloppy sandwich and had an ashtray on the table with a lit cigarette in it. There were cords and electrical things scattered around my desk. I rolled my eyes. It was starting to look like a mini version of the hole he called an apartment.
