I wasn’t sure if the nerves I had were still from my panicked anxiety or just excited jitters. I still couldn’t believe that Jaxon had dropped everything to take me and the kids on a family vacation.
I packed all the clothes and toys for the kids according to the list that Jaxon had made. He had me pack swimsuits but also sweaters and my ugg boots. I tried to sneak and see the extra stuff he was packing, but he was very sly and insistent that it was a surprise.
The only thing I managed to see was the fishing poles. It had been a very long time since I had been fishing, and I was excited at the idea.
When we were all packed, I headed downstairs and found Jaxon still working on the computer in his office.
"Hey, babe," I called, leaning against the door frame. "We were supposed to be on vacation ‘starting at the break of dawn,’ you said."
He glanced up at me with soft eyes.
