The dark-haired man placed his hands over his eyes to block the ray as he looked up to the sky. He stood in the middle of the backyard of the mansion, scanning it thoroughly. He curbs to one knee and takes a handful of the sand before slowly pouring it back.
"Hey."
He got up on his feet and turned to look at Jesselyn who shoots him a weak smile. She wore an oversized white T-shirt coupled with jean shorts. "What are you doing out so early in the morning?" She probed.
"Oh," he paused. "I was thinking about planting some trees here. I saw the once in the Medi forest and it looked even more beautiful without the snow on it."
"Hmm," Jesselyn mumbled and took a few steps forward. "I'm happy that you've finally found something to take your mind off everything that is going on. But I can't."
"What do you mean?" He said, now realizing the look on her face.
"What are we doing here? On Earth?" She paused a few seconds before speaking again. "Are we just going to stay on this planet and forget all that happened back home?"
The dark-haired man turned and began towards the main building. "What's there to go back to?"
"E-- everything!" She said, her voice spiking up a little, causing the dark-haired man to stop and turn to her. "I can't just go ahead and start living on an alien planet and forget everything from my past."
"My mom, my dad, my entire family are still on Winter Weir. I can't forgive Miss Havishma for what she's put us through."
The former Department H agent stared into Jesselyn's eyes. "I'm done, Jesselyn." He slipped his hand into his pocket and shook his head.
"You can go back if you want to, I won't stop you. But right now, I don't intend on going back to Winter Weir." He turned and entered back into the mansion.
.
.
.
The dark-haired man exited the mansion and exhaled deeply. He wasn't feeling too good after his conversation with Jesselyn and the hot sun wasn't helping. He looked around the street like a lost cat looking for its way back home. He smiled as he noticed Yvonne, who waved at him, leaning on a Ferrari Enzo mirroring his smile back.
She was dressed in stunning formal wear that perfectly showcased her alluring beauty and confidence. Yvonne's attire was a showstopper, designed to turn heads and make a lasting impression.
Her outfit consists of a figure-hugging, floor-length gown made from a luxurious fabric, in a bold and vibrant color that accentuates her features. The dress was tailored to highlight her curves, with a plunging neckline that tastefully reveals a hint of her décolletage.
Starla paired her dress with sky-high stiletto heels in a complementary shade, elongating her legs and adding an extra level of allure to her overall look. Her hair was styled in loose, cascading waves that framed her face and poured down her shoulders, adding a touch of sensuality. Her makeup was bold and sultry.
"Hello there," she greeted as he approached her.
"Hello to you too," he replied. "Do you always look this stunning, or is today just special?"
She winked and tapped her hair gently with a smile lingering on her face. "Is it too much?" She queried.
The dark-haired man let out a soft chuckle. "Absolutely not. It's perfect."
"Oh great. Since this is technically a date, I was hoping to look good while not overdoing it, does that make sense?"
He was quiet for a second before he replied with a nod. Yvonne smiled and held the door for him to enter.
"Why, thank you."
"My pleasure," she said while shutting the door close.
"So, where are you going to take me that'll beat the impression left by the mansion?" He queried as the dark-haired woman ignited the car.
"Calm down pretty boy, just prepare your mind for the best, because it is going to get blown away."
"Alright then."
They started their journey in the heart of the city, surrounded by towering skyscrapers that seemed to touch the clouds. Yvonne pointed out the architectural wonders, explaining the innovative designs and sustainable features that made the buildings not only visually stunning but also environmentally friendly.
As they drove through the city, the dark-haired man noticed the advancements in transportation. Electric and autonomous vehicles glide silently alongside traditional cars, creating a seamless flow of traffic.
He asked and Starla shared her knowledge of the planet's efficient public transportation system, showcasing the well-developed trains and buses that whisk passengers to their destinations in record time.
A few minutes later, Yvonne led the dark-haired man to a high-tech park. Here, they witness the integration of nature and technology, with holographic displays of vibrant flowers and interactive installations that respond to touch and movement.
Next, she took him to a cutting-edge museum where art and technology merge in captivating ways. They explore immersive virtual reality exhibits, where they can step into famous paintings and experience historical events firsthand. Among the ones they explored was the aftermath of a meteor that landed in the northern part of the planet, rendering the place completely useless and unbreathable. She explained how the meteor turned out to be useful and they were able to use it in developing the planet, especially aiding those who lost their homes during the fall of the meteor.
Feeling hungry, she introduced him to a dining experience. They entered the restaurant where robots seamlessly handled the food preparation and delivery. She explained that having robots tend the restaurant gave those who previously worked there to move to greater things.
As the sun set, Yvonne led the dark-haired man to a rooftop garden with a breathtaking panoramic view of the city skyline. Here, they relax and enjoy the stunning display of lights as the city comes alive with a vibrant energy. They both had a cup of milkshake in hand.
Yvonne exhaled softly before sitting on the space on the bench next to the dark-haired man. "You know, I had a lot of fun today," she stated. "I don't think I've felt this way in the past fifteen years, you're something else, Andy." She took a sip of her drink.
"Thank you, I felt just as good."
"But really though, you do know my name is not Andy right?"
Starla turned to him with surprise all over her face. "Really? And you let me call you that throughout the date."
"It's totally fine."
"Well then, where did I get Andy from?"
He laughed. "It's Hailey. On one of my missions, I used the name Andy Sprite and ever since, she insisted on calling me that."
"Speaking off, I heard you have-- powers. Is that true?" She queried.
He stared into her green eyes before smiling. "Yeah, yeah it is. Out of many, I can produce electricity from my bare hands," he said while outstretching his hand and shooting a small wave.
"Wow, that is cool and intriguing. Makes me want to explore your body."
"Oh."
"… Umm." She took her cup to her mouth and sipped it again.
"You know, I had my first kiss here on this roof, with some guy named John. He committed suicide fifteen years later because his girlfriend at that time broke up with him."
"Oh, god."
Yvonne nod. "Guess where he did it??"
"On this same roof?"
"You got it right. The dumbass jumped to his death on this same roof. After he died, like four hours later, I found his application letter to join Nator."
"If only he had waited a few more hours. And apparently she broke up with him because he wasn't earning much, a nice guy he was."
The dark-haired man furrowed in confusion. "Why are you telling me all this?"
"Well, just. You told me about your stuff, so I thought I'd share a little something too, you know."
The dark-haired man opened his mouth to speak but Yvonne's phone began to ring, cutting him short.
She took out her phone from her purse and her brows inched closer as she read the content. "It's work, I need to head back," she said, standing up on her feet.
"Oh, okay. Why not take me with you? If it's okay that is?"
A smile slowly crawled up Yvonne's lips. "Of course it's okay, come on." She extended her hand to help him up.
