Brooke wasn’t sure how this was going to work out, but she needed to attend a staff meeting.
The date the night before had gone well and Penn hadn’t even tried to kiss her. She wasn’t sure if that was a sign he was a gentleman or that he didn’t have a good time. She pondered that as he looked at emails on their way to work. He’d agreed to go to the library with her.
She glanced his way, but he had on his serious face. She didn’t want to disturb him so she stared out the window instead. The drive to the library was uneventful. No one tried to run them off the road.
Brooke felt like royalty when their driver held the door open for her. He’d done it last night, but it seemed decadent in the light of day. “Thank you, Roger.”
“I’ll be waiting whenever you are done.”
“You don’t have something else to do this morning?” she asked.
Penn was finishing up typing and still sat in the limousine.
“I’m all yours for the morning.”
