I think I have always found everyone attractive. Boys, girls, men, women. I tried to look at everyone like their secret admirer might look at them. See their beauty, their adorable quirks. How he might puff out his chest at a compliment or how she curled a hair behind her ear while she focused. In the right light, very few people are actually ugly.

My first kiss was with a boy. He had light brown hair and a smattering of freckles between his eyes. The village kids were gathering apples from the nearest orchard, and he pulled me behind a tree for a quick confession.

He tasted like apples.
