“But where is my mother?” Aeliana gently prodded, as she attempted to be patient with Jacques. “I must see her at once. I need to know why she is treating me like this. But there is so much, so very much, on my mind and heart, that I can’t begin to tell you.”

Frowning slightly at Aeliana, Jacques took her in, seemingly for the first time. Although she knew that Jacques had been a bit cool or distant toward her for quite some time, Aeliana desired so strongly for there to be a deeper thread of romance between them - for their souls to truly be entwined, their auras one and the same.

“I’m so sorry, Jacques. I just wanted there to be something more between us. I’m sorry if it seems forced. But I am so tired of having my mother constantly at my heels. You know how stressful it is for me, especially after knowing how poorly she treated you.”
