THE DETENTION

I have never experienced theft in my life until now . Hence I always disregard it . I thought that it is not a grave crime . It can't affect people that much but only until my bag was stolen . Yeah I have been searching my bag for two hours now but I still can 't find it .

" Its not in Amara 's desk I checked it . ", Serena .

" Then who can steal my bag and why ? ", I inquired .

" I don't know Myra . I am sorry . ", Serena .

" My all books are in the bag . My father will not leave me alone if I don't find it . He will say that I am become careless and ground me in my room . What should I do ? What should I do ? " , I rambled .

" You need to relax Myra . ", Serena , " Let us eat something first and report it to the authorities . "

" You are right . " I said .

We are standing in the lost and found department of our school .

" So your bag vanished from your desk . ", teacher .

" Yeah , it wasn't there when I opened the desk this morning . ", I said .

" Ok , take me to your class . And you should go to your class Serena . ", teacher .

Wow , Serena is really popular in the school .

" Do you need me here ? ", Serena asked me .

" No , thank you I will handle it by myself . ", I said and she left .

Me and the teacher headed towards the classroom . The teacher is middle-aged man . She is wearing long brown skirt and green shirt . I like how she dresses which is rare because I have almost no aesthetic sense .

Her grey hair is neatly combed and properly tied .

We enter the classroom . Our physics teacher is there . He is teaching Vectors but stops to teach as soon as we enter .

" Miss Daisy ...Why are you here ? ", she asked .

Oh her name is Miss Daisy .

" Student right besides me claims that her bag was stolen from her desk . I am here to investigate . ", Miss Daisy .

" Ok , you can go ahead . Class is adjourned for a while . ", physics teacher .

" Open your desk first . ", Miss Daisy told me .

" Alright ... ", I said as I opened my desk with the key .

When I opened my desk my head is blown . I am unable to see anything clearly . My brain is blocked and my mind has become fuzzy . My bag is still in the desk .

" Myra ...What kind of joke is this ? Are you trying to prank me ? ", Miss Daisy gritted .

I want to argue I want to say something in my defense but I can't do anything other than staring at the middle -aged lady standing before me .

Everyone in the class is laughing .

" Silence ! ", teacher .

" Myra you will have detention . Meet me after your classes are over . This is absolutely disrespectful . You all think that school is a joke . What is wrong with you guys ? ", Miss Daisy with red red face .

" You are right Miss Daisy . These children have no respect for their teachers . They are worst than their juniors . Just worse . ", physics teacher .

AFTER A WHILE :

I am currently in the red room because I got detention . I have to write an application to ask for forgiveness . I hate this . I seriously do .

" Write the application ten times . ", Miss Daisy .

Great ! I want to die right now . But seriously what happened . I am sure that I didn't see my bag in the desk . Either , I am hallucinating or someone has pranked me . If its latter whosoever did it should start praying to God send him to heaven as I am going to make his life living hell . They have messed with the wrong person .

" Myra ! Stop dilly dallying . Write the application . " , Miss Daisy .

Oh no , I don't remember how to write an application . Do I have start from the right or left side ? Where should I put the date ? And what about subject comma and salutation ? Come on, Myra it is a primary school stuff .

I remember that you don't have to elaborate anything in application . Hence I will only write two to four lines in the body . Yeah , that will help me because I have to write ten applications .

[ I am a student of 11 th grade . I will not repeat my mistakes in the future . Hence I hope you will forgive me .]

Wait a minute , instead of writing this nonsense I will write the truth . Here , this is perfect :

[ I am the student of 1 1 th grade and I have been wrongly framed . I hope you will investigate properly instead of punishing the innocent victim .

Do I have to put comma after faithfully or not ? Damn , literature and application . Whoever , invented this tedious method of writing application should be stoned to death .

AFTER AN HOUR :

" Did you write those applications ? ", Miss Daisy asked .

" Yes ", I eagerly nodded .

" Ok , hand them over and leave . ", she said .

I gave her all my letters and left . Guess what ? She ripped them without reading anything and threw them in the trash bin .

Wow , what a great way of educating students . I am proud of my school . They should get noble peace prize and all national awards out there .

" Do you want to stay here ? ", Miss Daisy asked .

" No ", I answered and left .

Serena is waiting for me . Honestly , I feel bad for her . I wasted her time for nothing but at least she is earning money while I am just getting detention .

" You okay . ", Serena .

" Yeah . ", I responded with a sigh .

" Don't worry . We will find out who did this . ", she said .

" Forget it . It was just a prank . ", I said .

" And you got detention because of it . ", Serena reasoned .

" So what . There are lots of people in this world who face inequality and injustice . My problem is trivial as compared to them . ", I said .

" Fine , let us go home first . We will talk about it later on , she said .

I have to study a lot today . Especially , Maths and Physics . I missed those two classes .

AT DINNER :

I am heading towards the dinning room . Mom and dad are discussing something in the lobby .

" Wait , come here first . ", mother .

Great , looks like they know that I got detention .
