"I can't even understand all that's written here!" Richard sighed as he perused the document carefully. Nothing held his interest there. He sighed. For how long would he continue to impersonate his brother?
His real work just started and he was so nervous.
He feared that he wouldn't be able to achieve anything and that sooner or later, the workers would find out.
They weren't fools. They had worked with Adam long enough to know him and what he did. How would he deceive them?
He rested his back on the recliner. Suddenly he remembered. He couldn't believe that he had forgotten it. He was worrying when the solution to his problems lay on the desk like a compass.
His face lit up with a smile and he reached for a file on the big wooden mahogany before him remembering that weekend.

The Weekend
"Good evening sir, I compiled this for you," Ledger had extended a document to him.
He quirked his eyebrows wondering what was in the white folder Ledger held in his firm hand. Richard accepted it and opened it as Ledger's voice spoke over him.
"It's a file you'll need. It states everything you need to successfully impersonate your brother, especially at work ," Ledger added.
"Wowww, this is so impressive." Richard was stunned, grateful the chauffeur had gone extra length to help him solve his dilemma.
He was so happy. It wasn't easy keeping up the facade before those in the house. Most of them were already staring at him like he was strange. He couldn't blame them.
If only he could tell the truth. He had stayed mostly in his room so he could be free and also oversee the restaurant from his system.
The problem on his mind was how he would deal with those at the office. He couldn't run away from them. In Fact he would have conversations with them and if he wasn't up to it, they'd know immediately.
He had been lost in thought on how he would solve that when Ledger strode in.
"I included the names of the employees and some of Sir Adam's personality traits at work," Ledger said.
"Adam's personality traits?" Richard raised his head. He didn't understand what Ledger was saying. There was an underlying tone to what he had said. He was sure.
"Yes sir," Ledger responded, not willing to say anything until he was given a go ahead.
"And what might those be?" Richard asked.
"Sir Adam scolds his workers if he doesn't find them efficient enough." Ledger said.
Richard was more confused. It was normal to scold workers who didn't give you their best because you were paying them thousands of dollars to do it.
He scolded his workers too if they didn't give him what he was expecting.
" Isn't it necessary to scold people who don't give you their best? I don't get you, Ledger. Please speak in explicit terms," he smiled at the driver.
"He scolds those who he might have wooed and they reject him. He shouts at them often," the driver revealed.
Richard's mouth did an oh. He was surprised his brother was a jerk. He was just surprised he could stoop so low to this level to hurt others. People were owners of themselves.
"I now understand you. Thank you Ledger." Richard chuckled to relieve the tension in the room.
The driver must be thinking he'd lose his job over what he just said. Richard had dumped the document on his bed forgetting to study it because he had to study a recipe.
____________
He smiled as he picked up the document to study it immediately. He was grateful he had something to guide him. He'd study it line by line.
He couldn't make the same costly mistakes he had made that morning.
He had messed up immediately and stepped his foot into the building. Adam never smiled at his workers except the ones that agreed to his demands.
Richard had made his first mistake by smiling at all of them. Adam also never called his employees by name, and that was another of Richard's mistakes. He had called them by their names and had even mixed it up because by the time he laid down to study the document at night, he was so tired.
He had just read up a few, then he skimmed through it before sleep embraced him. Ledger's eyes had almost popped out when he realized what was going on.
He cleared his throat and they walked to the office immediately.
The day was a tough one for him, as he barely knew a thing about the company.
He closed the document after reading up another page.
He spent some time reading documents and contracts to brief himself on their forthcoming meetings.
He would be representing the company and he couldn't do this anyhow or it would cause a disaster. He had to be prepared for this.
Someone knocked on the door. Richard's attention was shifted to it. He had been trying to wrap his head around the boring book and someone chose that moment to distract him.
Was it a sign for him to stop? H
"Come in," he invited the person in. To his disgust, it was the secretary.
"Hello Adam," she purred as she walked in, closing the door after her. Her skirt was so short and tight, it clung to her body so well.
Another disturbing thing was this secretary who kept throwing flirtatious glances at him. Today was his first day and he had warded her off thrice. What was going on?
She tossed a file before him and was about sitting down when he stopped her.
"You may leave now," he showed her to the door.
She was surprised.
"Why are you acting odd towards me?" She lashed out, unable to control her temper anymore.
"Leave," Richard sounded stern.
She slammed the door after her.
He wondered if his brother was having a fling with her. If he was, how would he continue the act without her noticing? He definitely couldn't do this.
