Vincenzo hurried into the room, his face marked visibly with worry….

He had received a call from Aunt Millie and hurried down as fast as she could. Just when he thought things were going smoothly for them but now….

Goodness, he's been thinking all day about her since he left the house. He almost told his driver to turn back home so he could see her again but he knew better than to do that. It wouldn't make things any easier for him or her.

Hazwithel was on his bed., covered to the neck with a duvet. She was unconscious and whatever hit her must have done that bad…

"What happened?" He asked

"She was eating a toast and she fell unconscious" Millie gestured at the supposed toast that was now nothing more than a dark moving matter, trapped in transparent glass.

"It was an intentional act from someone within the presence. This sort of spell isn't the type to be cast from a distance." Millie explained

"Someone from the staff must have done it" Yin adds

Rose runs a few runes over Hazel's body and sighed in satisfaction.

"She's going to be fine" Rose assured

She turned to see Vincenzo's eyes darken in a murderous glare. His eyes changed from one colour to another and finally settled on green, shining bright despite being in broad day daylight.

"You better stop him" Rise taps Millie's arm.

"Vincent"

He grew bigger and taller in size, his face let out white hair that wasn't there before. Despite his half transformation, he was intimidating enough.

"You can't go out looking like that!" Millie cautioned

"WHO DARES TO POISON MY QUEEN?!" He practically yelled, making the Aunts move away from him in fright. Shivers ran down their spine and they were sure the entire staff must have heard him yell so loud.

"VINCENZO! CALM DOWN!" Millie managed to muster some courage to calm him down.

"If you walk out that door, your staff will ask questions. I want you to find whoever did this but not like this" Millie offered

Vincenzo turned to the wall and smashed his fist hard into the wall, creating a huge dent on the wall.

Evan was begging to come out. First the bathroom and the water stunt and now they want to poison her?!

//Let me out you coward!!// Evan groaned

He wanted to rip them to pieces, rip every bone, muscle, ligament, tissue, organ, and cell.

//let me get those bastards!!// Evan yelled

"We don't know who we are going against. We find that out first" Vincenzo glanced at Hazel on the bed as he regained his human form.

"And then we rip their hearts out"

Vincenzo heads to the door.

Before the women could protest, he was out the door and Matteo right behind him.

"Get everyone here right now "

Matteo bowed his head and hurried down the stairs to get everyone.

He stood on the landing, his hands in his pocket, waiting patiently for everyone to show.

One by one, everyone troupes into the living area, fear evident in their eyes as there was something about his atmosphere that scared them so much.

"Everyone is here boss" Matteo offered

"I want all humans taken out"

Before any normal person could process what he was saying, the others had taken out the humans amongst them, knocking them unconscious and unable to recall what had happened five minutes earlier.

Vincenzo watched in silence as the activities went on. They had a total of ten humans in the house. Once they were done, they paid their respect to their leader, head bowed.

"Someone tried to poison my queen" Vincenzo announced

"With dark magic. " He said again, taking one step down the stairs, one step after another.

"Who would dare to do such a thing?!" Matteo yelled, frightening everyone in the room.

"Who gave her the meal?" Matteo asked

Silence.

"Do I have to rip someone's heart out to get an answer?" Vincenzo asked in a dangerously low tone.

"Sir, I don't believe anyone from the pack would dare to do such!" Sara said

"We know what would happen to anyone who dares to hurt the queen! We would never do such Sir" She adds

"Enough"

Millie and her sisters followed each other down the stairs.

"To avoid hurting the innocent ones, we will do this the old fashion way" she announced

She glanced from one head to another and sees none in fright

"Very well"

The trio casts a few runes and unites them in a strong bond, creating shadowy must over the air. They moved it over to the staff watching a few sparkles run down from the spell on their bodies.

"I should have answers soon" Vincenzo muttered

//And I am going to have my meal of his or her heart!// Evan groaned

There was utter silence and nothing seemed to happen.

Vincenzo frowned, did a human poison his queen? Why would a human interfere with their masters?

He glanced at Millie who nodded in understanding.

"Then anyone who knows about this" She tossed a rune up in the air.

Another second and suddenly, someone falls to the ground at the back.

Before Millie would say anything, Vincenzo moved towards her in a second, pulling her off the ground, his hand around her neck.

//Betrayer// Evan yelled

"Vincent, stop! She knows about it but we don't know who did" Millie reminded

Vincenzo drops her hard on the floor, Evan losing his cool and ranging in his head badly.

//let me out!!!!// he yelled

"You stay put or I will shut you up for good!" Vincenzo threatened and felt Evan's grip on him pull away immediately.

"You get to the bottom of this and give me that imbecile"

Vincenzo exhaled, his forehead covered in sweat.

"I promise"

"Who did it?" Millie asked

The little girl chokes on her words, a rune wrapped tightly around her throat.

"If you tell us, I'll make sure Vincenzo doesn't rip your head out" Rose offered

"T..the…the c….cr..cry..crystal…w….wi…witch" she stammered

Millie immediately released the little girl who gasped for air immediately. She crawled to her knees, hand pleading with tears.

"She had my brother…and she was going to kill him if I didn't let her in" she explained

"What lies do you tell? The crystal which can never come in person to any place!" Millie snapped

The girl cried in panic.

"Believe me, aunt. She came in person, in human form. Please believe me!" The girl cried bitterly.

"Please…. My brother….please save my brother.." she cried

"You must think your brother's life is more important than the queen's is it?!" Rise snapped

The girl shook her head.

"What effrontery! You could have informed Vincenzo and he'd have saved both you and your pathetic brother!" Rose snapped

"Rose…" Vincenzo cautioned

He walked towards the girl, he could understand what it felt like to have family living on the line…

He'd lost his sister…

"I'll have Matteo rescue your brother" he offered

The girl cried in gratitude.

"But I'm afraid you can't stay here any longer," he said

The girl nodded in understanding, she knew what the punishment for such an offence would be in the first place.

"I'll send you off to a friend, he will help you, that I can guarantee," he said

"Thank you…."

"Where did she hold your brother?" He asked

"In the willows"

"Yin will go with Matteo and a few other men. We will have your brother rescued and all will be sorted" he assured

"You should be glad he wants to spare your life. Tell me, whose form she took?" Rose asked

"Chole's," the girl said

"We might have to run protective runes on each person" Millie advised

"Whatever is necessary," Vincenzo said " leave now Matteo" He ordered as he headed back up the stairs.

Matteo and his men alongside Yin head out of the house, the girls right behind them.

Millie exhaled as she turned to see the humans on the floor.

"Why do we still have them around? This is dangerous for them" she said, running a few runes on each unconscious person.

"His Queen was born human. He would do anything to make her feel normal, despite knowing she isn't" Rose explained

"I don't understand it" she admits

Millie laughs at Rose's weird thinking.

"It's called love my dearest one" Millie offered

"Some things aren't clear still. You can do this based on…emotion " Rose said

Millie nods, she might have a point there….

"We can't understand Rose, no matter how we try but the good thing is to know someone is willing to do their best for someone else just because they love them" Millie smiles

"That is the point. I don't understand it" Rose snapped

Millie chuckled

"Why don't we focus on the work at hand first?" She advised

"And worry about that part of you later will you?" She teased

"I'm not worried about it. I'm not only made to find love. It doesn't make me less human if I am not romantically involved " Rose offered

"I agree. Now, where do we start?" Millie scanned the space in front of her.
