Chapter 8

ALASKA

One simple mistake from me is all it takes for Aspen to know who I am.

I tug at my hair some more as I pace back and forth in front of Beta Allen, my father is going to kill me for this. While he is out trying to reconnect to other packs, I am following behind the mysterious girl that I have been spending my entire life ogling at. I have heard her name once or twice from her foolish brother. I call her mysterious because she is hard to read. Even with my mind-reading superpower, all I see is a full barrier.

"You seriously have to pretend a whole accent to cover your stupidity?" my brother, also known as Beta Allen, retorts. He is usually much nicer to me, but when he knows about everything just by looking at me, he becomes intolerant.
