Realization

"Sir, this isn't right!" 

He restrained himself, knowing too well that raising his voice against his employer might cost him his job, but he was seething.

"Don't act as though I haven't given you enough chances, Erik. This isn't your first time being late."

Erik stopped talking, knowing Mister Fox was right about his tardiness. But staying quiet was difficult—his mind was racing and his body tense after taking three lives just moments ago.

"Now, let's get to work, shall we?" Mister Fox said. 

"Yes, sir," Erik said.

He walked to the fields that Mister Fox had prepared, his mind fixed on what had happened earlier. He had killed three people. There was no other way to put it. 

Part of him felt relieved they were gone, but another part felt unsettled. While he stood by his actions, he couldn't ignore that taking three lives was a serious affair.
