Erik got to the Blue Palace. The place was always the same, as was the notification he got once entering.

Erik Romano (Rank 571, First Year) versus Nathaniel McConnell (Rank 370, Second Year)

Erik's focus was sharp. This time, it wasn't one of his usual opponents he was going against; it was not an average fighter. It was a beast, a beast named Nathaniel.

But that focus was also filled with anxiety. Erik must have had higher attributes than Nathaniel, but his power abundantly made up for it.

The guy was an absolute monster—a true demon who'd been on top of the rankings from the first day Erik and his schoolmates joined the Red Palace. Someone who had been the best even before that.

Nathaniel hadn't lost once yet, even when matched against some of the best fighters in the peasant rank.

<You can do this, Erik.> He took a deep breath. That helped him calm down.
