Unreal and Fake

"Stop trying," A woman's voice sliced into Yami. The words were little but the impact was huge. "Just give up, like you're supposed to," Yami's eyes opened to see her hanging from a dark pit. There were two metal poles with chains strapped on them. She noticed that those chains were wrapped around her wrist, and she tried to break free. Realizing that she would fall into empty abyss if she did so, she kept to herself and just glared into wherever the voice was coming from.

"I'm not going to give up!" She yelled, and deadly cackling arupted from under Yami. She looked down to see that same woman from the day before. She had the same outfit and same hair, but she looked more cruel and devastating. Her eyes were mere slits staring at this young girl. "You're not my ruler!"

"It is a fact that I am," The woman floated over to the pole with the chains, and threatened to cut them off and let Yami fall. "If you are in the Dark, then you are my servant. I am your leader. You do whatever I say, and I say give up!" She slashed at the chains, causing a deep screeching noise that echoed around this cavern. "Besides, if you don't stop trying, you'll cause more damage than restoration!" Yami shook her head and furrowed her brows annoyed.

"I'm not going to stop! Because…because that's what I do i'm going to try to create peace and equality for everyone! You have to…believe…in me!" Yami yelled, and the woman laughed with amusement. She floated over to the center of the abyss, and held her right hand up high. All of the sudden, eight more poles were lines up against one side. Kirai, Katsu, Akuji, and Sachiko were hanging on with chains, like Yami was currently. "W-what?" She whispered, her eyes widening in terror. Why were her friends here with her?

"Yami, help!" Sachiko's eyes teared up in desperation. "We're best friends. You have to save me. Please," She started to sob, and Yami wished she could break these terrible chains and grab all of her friends and go. But that wasn't the case…she simply was betraying her friends.

"I believed in you," Kirai said, and Tsubasa flew over to him and caught his neck. She smiled and continued choking him as Yami simply watched. Her eyes filled with tears as she realized that her friends were going to die, and so was she. "Maybe because you tried so much…so hard…but it ended up making things…worse," His breath was taken out and his body fell limp. Yami's pulse quickened as she got full of anger and resentment.

"If you touch another one of my friends, I'LL KILL YOU!" Yami screamed, and felt like going insane. She rocked around and pulled herself up, but it only turned her upside down. Now, she had no way of ever killing Tsubasa. "Gah!" She yelled as Kirai's unconcious body fell down. Her eyes watered both from exhilaration and Kirai's falling death.

"I'm not done yet!" Tsubasa screeched, and sliced off all of the chains. Yami saw her other three friends falling into the abyss. She tried to lend a hand, but she was still flipped over and was still very much chained. "Now, do you understand what trying does to you?" The goddess questioned, and Yami didn't answer. She was boiling with anger. Her head was searing. She felt lightheaded as she flipped herself over and glared at Tsubasa.

"I'll kill you know!" She screeched, and broke free of the chains. She noticed that her fingers were now claws, she had wings, but not the beautiful type. Black liquid seeped through her eyes as she ran towards this murderer with anger. "Raitoninguburakku!" She yelled without even meaning to. Flashes of light, like lightning, flashed through her arms and onto Tsubasa. She floated back, rather impressed, clutching onto her arm.

"How did y-you…know that phrase?" Tsubasa whispered in awe. She then became full of anger, so she striked back full-force. "Hissawwaza hikari yori yami!" She screeched, and Yami quickly dodged and landed another blow.

"Kage no tekunikku!" She yelled, and shadows flew from her hand, overtaking Tsubasa. The goddess disappeared, and for one second Yami believed she was gone now. Relieved, she fell back to human form in some way and made sure she landed on the over-water-level surface. She tried to assess why she had said those strange, foreign words…she had never heard them in her life. Just as she was about to turn around and leave, she felt a hand punch deep into her stomach.

She looked up to see Tsubasa, covered in something black. "I told you not to try," She whispered. However, her voice echoed throughout the tavern. Yami fell and flipped and didn't even care anymore. She now was fully convinced she didn't need to try…she should have listened. Before she hit the ground…

Yami woke up. She was sweating and completely unsure of what had just happened. So…it had been a dream after all? She was okay? Her friends were alive? Were they?

"Yami! Are you okay? You've been lashing out for hours!" Sachiko said, and it turned out that all four of her friends were there together, surrounding her hospital bed. "You've scared us half to death!" Katsu's eyes widened with worry. He looked to be very intense right now.

"Talk about nearly killin' me! I swear I had a heart attack right there!" He said dramatically. Both Akuji and Kirai rolled their eyes. Katsu was a bit over the top, but he wasn't a bad person at all. "Please, don't do that again?"

Yami laughed slightly. "Fine! It's not my choosing, anyways!" She smiled and then asked an important question. "Uhm, when will I get out of the hospital bed?" The squad looked at her with excitement.

"Tomorrow!" Akuji exclaimed, and Yami tried to look happy. The thing was, she never wanted to come back. She was desperate to leave, to have another life. But that wasn't possible. She had to…stay here. And continue with her misery. It wasn't the way she wanted her path to go.

She was supposed to be with Yuki and Jae. Her headmistress was supposed to be Ophelia. She was supposed to be surrounded by kind students. She was supposed to have kind professors. She had been destined for a good life to become a good woman. But now, she was stuck with some maniac powers that she could barely even use and teachers who wouldn't even listen to what she had to say. Her friend had died here. Her life had been crushed here. There was no way she'd make it out normal. She'd be evil, like everyone else except her friends. She was going to get consumed. Even now, Tsubasa the Dark goddess was trying to manipulate her and use her for evil. Yami was going to get consumed. She was going to destroy everything because she had no control over the situation. Nothing, NOTHING, was RIGHT here!

"F-fine," She muttered, and tried to sound convincing. Her friends looked at her with such excitement and such joy, but…Yami just couldn't pick up that feeling. She would feel this way for a while, or so she thought. Her friends would probably abandon her one day…just like she had done to Misato. "See ya guys later!" She waved, and the squad nodded and waved back. They went towards the door as it made a large clunk noise.

Yami breathed in and out, the air actually quite fresh and cool. Her eyes closed as she entranced into a deep sleep, one without nightmares. These nightmares were getting too real. They had to find a way to stop them, or else she would get possessed. They had to!

Luckily, this time, Yami dreamt of clouds. And sunshine, which she wished she could see again.
