Special Treatment

Despite it being early autumn, the weather in Hydrogia was much warmer than it was in Chemois. Even with the periodic storms off of the western sea, Henry thought he preferred the weather on the coast. Though he wondered if his opinion might change if he was allowed to sleep inside during winter.

Upon entering the dining hall in Commander Lothian's fortress, he looked around the room and saw a stark difference from the last time he had dined there. It seemed the apprentices had found their knights and were eating together. Even more than that, the Knights of Chemois and Knights of Hydrogia were not separated. The groups meshed with each other after having experienced so much in the face of war. There were shared traumas and experiences that no one else in the world would understand.

It made him feel strangely happy. Facing the others was much easier since they had a degree more understanding and acceptance of each other than when he was first an apprentice.
